What's the best frequency to tune a box to?

my friend is a polk dealer and has installed a few of those subs they sound great you will enjoy them I have my 15 tuned to 36 hertz and it plays every thing no problem

OP, what type of music do you listen to? 35hz is a good median

I listen to all kinds of music, but the big subs are mainly turned up for rap and dubstep.

:facepalm: Why are 18s and 21s tuned for rap? Because of their Fs? You wont notice a difference by a subs fs. You notice the difference in the box

Oh I've had them for almost a year and I couldn't be happier with them! I'm thinking about adding a second pair :peepwall:

Yeah I dont think I would mount them down being the car is sort of a hatchback/wagon.

Why is that?

I had a similar setup in a 06 Magnum. When I turned the subs down they didnt perform as well. They actually sounded the best with subs and port back.

I had a similar setup in a 06 Magnum. When I turned the subs down they didnt perform as well. They actually sounded the best with subs and port back.

Oh that does make sense. Thats how its set up now. The box I have now is tuned to 27hz. But if they're not downward firing I would probably put them at a 45ish degree angle facing back/up with the port back.
