It's getting hot ? So, it's working !!!:yahoo:

Hot like you can't touch it ?

If it has a problem it will cut, like Jacob (sundownz) told you.

black BMW X1 2.0 l 192 hp

OEM head unit, Amplifiers Audison AP 8.9 amp with integrated DSP and Ampere Audio 1200.

Focal ES 100 K in front doors, and Dayton RS 180 for midbass under the front seats.

2 SSA DEMONS 10" subs, in a 2.6 ft3  ported box. SecondSkin Damplifier on front doors, and Luxury Liner Pro for the cargo area.

If signal goes in the amp is still making voltage -- this can actually damage the output section as it can climb too high with no load.

Good to know, I figured without a load connected and no current on the outputs it wouldn't be producing any wattage/heat. I learn something new every day.

If the amp is not shutting off it's fine -- it is not unusual for a high powered amp that is putting out high power to be warm :)

Well a heat sink is made for a reason.. I mean if you don't expect something to heat up that is drawing more current than your house in a footprint the size of a skateboard, your nuts. If you think its the ground which can help contribute to it add some more runs to it. Or find a better spot.
