hdorre
What alternator options do you have for a 1998 Mitsubishi 3000GT with a 3.0L V6? MECHMAN
No problem- We have a great unit for that vehicle that we have been selling on 3si.org forums. We offer it in two trim levels: 220 amp (135 at idle) = $499 150 amp (full output by 1,000 rpm) = $450 Both of the above units are a physically larger, better late model design that bolts directly in place of the trouble prone 3000GT unit. Our unit has better airflow, a bigger rectifier, and better terminals for 100,000 mile durability. As an option, we can add the adjustable voltage boost module to either of the units above for only $50 more. This allows you to increase the charging voltage to any level you want with the simple turn of a screw. hdorre
cool. Would I need to buy a step down module if I decide to run a 14 volt system? MECHMAN
No, a Step down is not required for 14 volt batteries, that's why they rock for daily drivers!! You can set your charging voltage as low as 15.8 volts and still maintain a 14 volt battery. hdorre
That's nice to hear. How high of a voltage will stock electronics withstand? Also, how expensive are D1400s? I'm thinking about running two of them. Does that sound good for about 4000 Sundown watts? MECHMAN
two D1400 batts and a 220 amp alt would be perfect for that setup. I would set the unit at 16.0 volts or so, it won't bother the car any. Quote 1-888-MECHMAN www.Mechman.com [email protected]
