Something Heavy came in! THANKS RUSTY!

Recommended Posts

So i was driving around checking out the audio shops and they want to charge me $200 some even $350 for a single 12' box.... i said dam, it's just a simple square ported box...

And all of them tried to sell me pre-fab box and I'm just fukkin laughing inside. One dude said, look, this box is gonna hit hard in your car.

Put it in your trunk and check it out for yourself. So we did, it had a 12' kicker sub in it with his so called bad ass custom box... we hooked it up, and turned it up and he was like, see, i told you that shit hits huh.. i was like ok, now listen to my DD 8's (that's in my rear center console) and my 8's blew his freekin' 12's away... BWAAHAHAHA then he said, you know your shit huh! and i just laughed at him...

priceless

thats funny. i went into my shop just for the hell of it, and he tried to sell me 2 500w memphis amps, and 2 1 farad caps for 1 grand. No box/subs/labor yet. I was like ok, cool (just playing around) then he looked at my tweeters and was like "why you down firing" and i was like, umm its firing at my face once i sit down... and he was like oh ok.. Then i asked him if he knew about dc audio, and he was like yeah, the 2 seconds later after he saw the sticker in my window he was like whos dc? LOL then i asked if he knew about brands like sundown, aq, dd, etc and he said yeah, competion shit, and they really arent that good. he had a ton of trophys inside with like "168.2db" and what not and i asked what meter he was using and he said idk. lol? here's the best part, he said my 4 10's wont play good at 32 hz, and i should try to tune at 55. he also said my 10's are too small and wont play that low. I was just like yeah youre probably right. I plan on going back up there once im finished and showin his ass up.

quick update! I just picked up my box and from my ear stand point, my one twelve is a little bit louder than my previous 4 12's setup

I still gotta experiment a little too and i still need to put a board on the bottom. Oh and another thing, I believe i need a bigger amp. The SAZ-1500D pushes it but it seems like the XL wants more power
