kirill007
With glassing, he means use fiberglass+resin, because resin itself doesn't adds a lot of strenght. Resin is brittle. I would recommend using fiberglass to reinforce the box+port. Dowel rods are a good way to brace a port. Quote Thinking is the root of all problems... You ALWAYS get what you pay for. Dowel rods are a good way to brace a port. i thought resin was too brittle; but I have never worked with it very much other than to make a few small panels. dowel rods or all thread will probably be what I end up using. I already planned on putting 3-6 pieces of all thread thru the box, so I may just run one piece top to bottom and make sure it crosses paths with the port. moto211
i always use mdf for the bracing , or you could use a double layer of mdf, trying using 1" mdf [/img] [/img] [/img] Edited January 9, 2011 by moto211 Quote CHECK OUT MY YOU TUBE PAGE http://www.youtube.com/user/motoxxx211?feature=mhee

moto211
well you will be surprised of how little air space it takes up , 27 feet of 2x4 is one cubic ft, and if you use 3/4 x3" mdf is takes 67 feet, to equal 1 cubic ft, but bracing make the box , no bracing , no slamming , a smaller stronger box is better that a bigger box with no bracing !!!! good luck Quote CHECK OUT MY YOU TUBE PAGE http://www.youtube.com/user/motoxxx211?feature=mhee
