slayer1927
SO I got my new subwoofer 12 inch Fi x in today. Sounds great but when I put the bass level over 1 or the bass is hitting hard for some songs. The the cap goes like a water bottle and pops . the dust cap goes in and pops out it's loud and I am scared it will damage the woffer. Nothing is lose the box is a dual 12 sub box single port each the ports are small. Do i need to make the ports bigger or whats wrong with the sub?? 97SSBlazer
Clipping is bad. Quote lower tuning is just hard. I was surprised how loud 145 sounds at 35hz, and how quiet 145 sounds at 50hz. -= 2005 Tahoe LT =-Head unit: Pioneer AVH-X5500BHSSource: iPad Mini in dash Subs: 2 T1 12's Sub Amp: T1500-1bdCPWire: Rockford Fosgate 1/0 awgSignal Cable: MonsterFronts:Stock Bose for now:)Rears: Stock Bose for now:)MIds/High amp: Stock Bose for now:) 2005 Tahoe Build Log: http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/172529-2005-tahoe-my-17th-vehicle/ 2001 Monte Build Log: http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/160030-2001-monte-carlo-my-16th-car-lol/page-2#entry25309381997 Tahoe Build Log: http://www.stevemead...oe-6-15-rf-15s/2001 Impala Build Log: http://www.stevemead...katzkin-inside/

Rebel4055
Ok Thanks I turned the gain to half and I have not heard it on any of the songs I did before. That knob is NOT a volume knob, do not set it to whatever, if you do that you could still be clipping the fuck out of the subs. Look for a guide on here on how to set your gains with a DMM. Look for a guide on here on how to set your gains with a DMM. i cant find the post on here about the dmm voltage thing anymore, did someone remove it? they was one that showed what size speaker and power wire would do what kinda current and watts and what knot like that but the dmm thing helps to see what kinda power ur doing, make sure to set ur dmm to ac voltage tho since an amp puts out ac voltage Quote here's a link to my system 99 toyota tacoma , 2 mtx 8000 1504's in a sealed downfire , 1000w memphis amp here's a link to my other system my 90 geo prizm test car heres a thread i got of new songs u can dl that are legal = Some Good Bangage/you Can Dl These Free And Legit

DC-Derrick
btw, dont think that will tell you if your clipping or not.. its just a basic adjustment with a DMM to give you a somewhat accurate to the power your putting out.. the ONLY way to really make sure you are not clipping is with a oscilloscope
