cvxsmitty58
Tuning is to the Frequency setting (Fs) of the speaker. Its best to tune to the frequency of the speaker as it will push hardest at that and be most efficient. These towers are more for a great sound and quite honestly there going in a dorm room so i think theyll be more than enough. I get yelled at all the time for having too much bass as it is. cvxsmitty58
Definitely expect a build log. Crossovers showed up today and the tweeters should be here on monday. Gotta go buy the wood, and expect some granite on the faces of these during the summer too. heres a pic of the design
bassl0va
Remember guys, the crossover is just as important if not more important than the box with full range speakers I'd pick what you want from the speakers, then choose drivers that match each other well, then design a crossover to match the drivers properly, then design the box to enhance it even more My RE MT 18" wall build Former build, farewell beloved wall.In progress, Toyota Starlet build This forum has a massive boner for ridiculous electrical upgrades. bumpinTL364
how did you decide how to taper your box? as in how did you derive what dimensions to use for the mouth/throat etc.? thanks masterbation is free, and even saves you money.sorry but someone had to say itsorry, Jimmy...beat you to it (no pun intended) LOLDON'T get a wife. cvxsmitty58
My buddy did all the calculations and he's more the one to talk to on this so ill have him post up the calculations but we built one of the towers with what wood was in the school shop and basically to see how they sound. Sound is good, found out that one of the mids showed up blown, so ill have to get another one of them in the near future. The final product will be 3/4 or 1/2 mdf with a 1 foot removable stand.
