The official guns and stuff shoot the breeze thread

Damnit lol... Everytime I say I am done buying stuff for my weapons I find myself picking up more accesories or tools to help me get the parts onto my rifle... I guess my BRD & 1911 modding wont be curbed until the government makes all weapons illegal

Think I'm going to use one of my coupons for gander mountain to tear down and thoroughly scrub my Marlin model 60. I believe it's the pre-1985 model since it has the longer tube and barrel that holds 18 rounds instead of 15, plus has the sweet squirrel engraving in the walnut stock. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Marlin_Model_60

Anyways, last time I took it out and shot it I couldn't get 4 rounds out without it stove-piping or jamming. I half wonder if certain parts of it are so old/tired/worn that it causes it to miss-feed as much as it does. Cheap old remington ammo doesn't help, but god damn if they don't see anything wrong with it and it continues to have issues, I may just try to see if they will trade it in for a Ruger 10/22.

EDIT: Also, I just saw 1000rnd boxes of 9mm go out of stock in less than 4 minutes on one site lol.

  • 2 weeks later...

Finally found ammo! First time ever seeing 1000rd boxes in person. It was either 1 250rd Remington UMC box for $75, or Remington 1000rd box for $250.

Course I wasn't walking out with 250rds lol.

Wasn't planning on buying this much, but with my 15% off ammo coupon it was worth it. $225 out the door :)

Nice ... Not a bad deal with the prices and scarce nature of ammo right now

Chewing my way through this, filling out paperwork, got my CPL class next Sunday.

Also decided against trading in my Model 60, was only going to get $75 bucks for it so fuck that. Gonna put several different kinds of ammo through it and try to find something that won't jam in it. It's at Gander Mountain now getting a full out tear down, scrub, bath, and rebuild, should have it back in a few days.
