yurvalentine
Now the question is do I spring for a new scope. The guy at Cabelas told me he could hook me up with a Vortex HST for $250, though I'm not sure wich model.

Cabela's has a sale going on for the Vortex Viper HS 4-16x50 LR for ~$450, which is a damn good deal. I wish I had of seen it before I bought mine. 2007 Ford F-150 Reg. Cab. LT.Smoke
Picked up a Ruger American Predator in 6.5 CM yesterday. Need to get some scope rings then see how it shoots, but initially it seems pretty decent for the price. Potato pic but it's nothing special to look at anyway. 6.5CM is a great round my uncle let me shoot his... Flat shooting and seems like it can reach out a ways if necessaryYeah, it's a pretty impressive round for what it is. There's a guy on YouTube that wanted to do a budget long range gun, so he bought a Ruger predator in 6.5 CM, slapped a 12 power scope on it, and out of 14 shots he hit 4 at 1820 yds. Granted you could do it better with a precision rifle, but to take a $400 gun and do it is pretty cool. 2007 Ford F-150 Reg. Cab. Triticum Agricolam
6.5CM is a great round my uncle let me shoot his... Flat shooting and seems like it can reach out a ways if necessary I've been wavering between the 6.5 CM and the 260 Rem. What's tipping me towards the 6.5 CM is it appears to give nearly identical performance to the 260 but using slightly less powder and the shorter case length should make it easier to seat bullets closer to the lands. I think the 6.5 CM is gaining in popularity compared to the 260 as well. yurvalentine
A dude at Cabelas today saw me looking at 6.5 bullets and knew what I was up to. We sat and talked a bit, he's shooting .243 and wishing he had gone 6.5. Planning to go shoot tomorrow, got two different factory loads to try.
