This is coming along! (waits impatiently)

I am impatient as well! This is becoming ridiculous, it should have been done 3 weeks ago! I'm not sure if I mentioned it in an earlier post, but the Mechman 220A I purchased didn't fit. Long story short I had my stock one sent away and had it entirely rebuilt. It was put on the dyno and was told it did 212 amps cold and 198 amps when it was hot. It's interesting because there is no peak, it puts out it's max amperage at all rpm ranges. It should be noted this place that rebuilt my alternator normally does them for dump trucks and tractor trailers.

Nonetheless the damn alternator should be here anyday from shipping, not sure what the hold up is, most likely from Easter, but as soon as the alternator comes in I should have it all in that day!

Sorry about the wait fellas it's killing me too!

I love these types of installs, nice tone vids howsb your voltage

I would have to describe my voltage as adequate for the amplifier. Let me expound.

I originally purchased a Mechman 220A alternator for my vehicle. Somewhere there was a discrepancy in information and the mechman alternator did not fit in my vehicle.

I had my stock one sent away to be rebuilt and has been measured at putting out 180 amps, not too bad.

I got my car back and the 1/0 gauge run from the alt + to batt + was not applied, so it is still stock.

When started up from cold it charges the batts at 14 volts at idle, then when it gets hot from the vehicle running for a while it charges around 12.9v-13.2v at idle, until an rpm of about 1000 is obtained, then it goes back up to 14.0-14.2 volts.

Once I get the 1/0 run from the alt + to bat + applied I believe I will be in good shape.

Anyhow when revving to 1000-1500 rpm, I only have about 1.0 voltage drop, so from about 14.2-13.1 volts.

As for how it meters, well. The box was designed to be tuned at 33 hertz. After some testing with tones I have concluded it is tuned at 30 hertz, which I am glad about.

The system kills the lows and therefore meters nicely on the lows.

When we put the system in, we set the gain at half on the amplifier and did a 35 hertz burp and hit a 145 dB. Not too bad, I will test it again when I break in the subwoofer some more.

I am also not sure of what I am clamping, I will also investigate that in the future!

Anyhow the system is badass, and easily makes your vision blur well throughout the frequency range (27-55 hertz) and shakes the crap out of everything, including nearby houses (angry neighbors, enough said). I am more than pleased! haha :yahoo:
