  1. Jeremy forgot to mention that for the pressure class you HAVE to have a fuseholder within 18" of the amp.

No i didn't, it was my second to last line in post 6. lol...

Anyway, you will want to get another fuse holder (mini ANL or AGU) and place it in-line 18" from your amp and stick a 40 amp fuse in it. That will put you in street 1. For street 2, you can run up to 90 amps of fusing. You can either use a single 80 amp fuse (cause I don't know of any 90 amp fuses) or you can use two fuses in parallel (one 40 and one 50) to get your 90 amps. You only need the fuse to hold up for 5 seconds so that the meter can get a reading. A lot of us will roll the volume up so that the fuse doesn't pop instantly.

  2. I have a regular truck install, In a 98 eclipse spyder,

    and i have 1 - 10"

i be leave im using a 190 amp fuse, or something that close - i forgot, have to look.

i have been able to use a 60 amp fuse for like 20 sec's till it pops,

....... so is it that i want to run the lowest but best fuse i can? to be higher in that class style. ?

im a little confused where as of now i would fall in?,

i assumed i would do good providing they had a class of 1 - 10" woofer, or something..

let me know,.. thanks a lot.

You would want to be in the lowest class you can get in. In street 2, you are allowed to spread your fuse load over two parrell fuses, so you could run one 40 amp and one 50 amp fuse to get your 90 amp rating. Your amp should do just fine on that.

  3. Well, if you have a regular trunk install or a hatch install that is below the rear seat line, then you could do street class. MECA uses a pressure class formula based on a combination of cone surface area and amp fusing to determine if you would be in street 1, 2, 3, 4, or 5. You have 78.5" of cone surface area with one 10" sub, so, you could run 40 amps of fusing in Street 1, 90 amps in street 2, 190 amps in street 3, 390 amps of fusing in street 4, or no fusing in street 5. Your fuse holder will need to be within 18" of your sub amp.

If you have anymore questions, just let me know.

  4. Just wanted to post up some vids that Minde from E2 Audio took while I was doing some drive by runs. The system specs are in my sig.

This is my run from the June 29th show in e-town. Only did a 128.4 because i forgot to turn it up before I started my run.

This is my first run at the July 20th Best Buy show. It was a very hot day and my fuses didn't like it.

This is my second run at the Best Buy show. I didn't turn it up to much because I was scared to pop fuses. They ending blowing at the last second and my score dropped to a 129.1

This is in DBSPL 2, so I am only allowed to run 80 amps of fusing!

  6. So really, if you work it right, you guys are pushing more amperage through a bunch of 5 amp fuses then using 1 fuse.

Cause each fuse will have a tolerance of + X amount of % over stated fuse rating.

Thats the trick. I'm running daily on my 80 amps worth of fusing. The fuses don't even get warm. We will see how things go when my second 3000D comes in. Hopefully before the weekend.

  7. Just wanted to post up our team's results from this past weekend.

    Jeremy McCord

Two 15" Sundown Nightshades and one Sundown 3000D on 80 amps of fusing.

Drive-By best of show with the loudest Drive-by score of the day.

For everyone that does not know, this is metered on the Termlab doing a 30 second average with the meter 6 feet outside of the vehicle.

I did not get any pictures of the show because of the bad weather.
