  1. i am going to be doing my interior in tweed and am wondering how well it holds up in sunlight.

dash will be black tweed. and thats the piece that will get most the sun and the a-pillars.

so how long does it last how do you clean it?

would it be good to make like a fiberglass cap over the dash where it will get the most sun then cover that with the tweed that way if its fades i can just recover the fiberglass.

on a side note would anyone be willing to place an order at yourautotrim.com and at gaugepods.com if i payed you paypal im 17 and do not have a credit card nor do i wish to have one. i will pay 20 bucks or so for your trouble

  2. i have some of the most talented bodymen in the country and they all have to use bondo no way around it lead doesnt exist and is a dying art only a handfull of old schoolers can still do it and i would bet money he put mud in your ride

ill bet you there isnt saw her right before she went for primer color no mud. i rather have a dent then bondo on my ride

lead is the only way to go imo. easy to work with

  3. My idea of a little extra is a couple hundred bucks maybe a grand. If there is a clear difference in the work added. But doubling the bill... I don't think so

Let me ask you this,... is the extra paid worth the extra work. Did they really do $4500 more in work?

i can see there was some damn expensive paint in the airbrush work shaved handles antenna. and the underbody epoxy.

i can see it i just wish i was notified because now funds are to low to have the engine delivered from my builder 570 hp ls3 at the flywheel then theres a 150 shot so with juice im at 730 which should put me in the mid to high tens with a 3900 pound car

  4. yea list his company name and his name so others are aware how he conducts his business so it could possibly prevent someone else being taken that badly

i feel the job he did was well worth the money i have no problem with that i would have wanted to let know it was going to be 4000 it put the project behind a good 2 weeks.

john deer blitz black i have it even with a uv clear it will fade its a good paint tough etc butt its not long lasting.

suede black is a gloss black with a glat clear from a far it apears flat but when 5 feet and closer it shines like a diamond. main thing that atributed to cost is the body work no bondo all lead or hammer and die this guy is magic.

but i still feel i got burned in the communication department

  5. ive had my car back from paint for 1 week paint shop finaly gets calls me to get my trim and shit. i was quoted 5000 (show quality suede black paint) and a matte silver pinstripe. and he painted valve covers emblems etc. well he said it was going to me alittle over the 5000 because of supplies and more labor (underbody epoxy coat and (real men have cubic inches airbrushed on the underside of the hood.

well i get there today with 5000 cash and a check to make out for the rest he tells me 9000 bucks i go fucking apeshit. he cant not charge me 4 g's with out contacting me correct he said alittle over (i mean its beautiful show quality finish no waves etc etc but come on to charge me 4000 with out giving me a call thats alittle much. he got payed but i let him have it and he offered to make my engine beauty panels free (that way you open the hood all you see is engine nothing else).

i had good grounds to be pissed i think ?

i did feel bad about freaking out in front of his little girl though

and to top it off i have to go back tomorrow so he can fix a scratch (he said no charge) this is suede black (click

  6. Not gonna happen 1000 to 1300 will get a normal bag set up. Now what you can do is Bag your car with a bag kit then add bus or motor home valves to the car. the way the valves work is they connect to the frame then have a small bar that attaches to a moving part of the suspension such as the a arm when the car goes to low the arm opens the inlet valve and lets air in to the bag when the car goes to high it opens the dump portion of the valve and lets air out of the bag. It also has a electronic by pass. Its the same thing they use on a lot of city transit buses that air out and lower to let passengers out. Also run at least Specialty's RS7s they dont expand like a balloon when inflated give you the most lift out of all manufactures and have internal bump stops

so what am i looking at for a proper bag set up im about to sell my 383 so thatll give me extra cushion would 1800 get me there if i found a used controller

  7. Good to hear P. That truck seriously is gonna be sickk, & I KNOW you'll hook that system up proper! B)

i off 15's is my vote

the big wheels everybody and there grandmother has them

i just build my Monte up i put 15 inch gm steals on her with beauty rings i got more complimates on that i asked if i should get dome thrusts or cragers everyone said hell no.

big wheels are overrated be different do something 1 off that no one else has done

  8. all right i have a 1986 monte carlo ss ford 9 inch rear t56 6 speed and 540 hp ls3.

i have gbodyparts.com lower a-arms rear i have adjustable lower and upper tubular control arms.

i am wanting a air ride suspension turn the key goes to ride height etc this is a street car so it needs the performance advantage of a quality system.

i would still like the option to be able to play front/backside 2 side.

i was looking at this kit http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/78-88-GM-G-...1QQcmdZViewItem

it gave me an idea of what i need all work will be done by myself.

i will need a controller to automatically bring it to ride height correct.

i will pay 30 or so bucks if someone can put me together a performance oriented list of parts i would like to stay around 1000-1300.

cars weight is about 3800 pounds

  9. i have a 1986 monte carlo that i am rebuilding and instead of piecing together a frickin interior which ive been trying for a year. im going to cover the all the interior trim in some sort of fabric vinyl tweed or something else yall suggest.

heres the hardest panel on the car. i have no idea how ill form it into the window i cant sew and i dont think tweed will stretch that much how about vinyl.

    29ed_1.JPG

what other fabrics/materials would you suggest

also a good adhesive seeing that im in florida and interior temps will get to about 120

  10. not a shop in ocala that i would go to seen like 3 shops work and its piss poor. of course i could drive in central Florida.

any of yall wanna spend a day or two and help build a box lol.

im thinking about sending toxic bass a email

what should i tune the box to.

also how many watts should i run this sub has to last i dont want to blow it in 6 months. if im in the car itll be on i drive about 4 hours aday interstate and back roads so i dont want it to overheat.

suggest a amp best bang for the buck sub is a Q18 with bp power (what is the bp power option) and its dual 2ohm
