Hello all, I'm looking for a new (used) amp, I don't have much to spend on it so I will be willing to trade my RF P5002 and a (POS) Lanzar 226 (+ Cash if needed) for an amp that will do 800+@1ohm mono, or at 4ohm mono. I would prefer the 1ohm, 'cause it'll be cheaper.

My computer requires a 1000w power supply to use 2 of my cards. I could probably grow some "Petunia's" in my closet for cheaper then it takes to run my computer ;)

True, but for the nVidia 8800GTX Ultra it's going to cost upwards of $1000 per card, what do you think the 9900GTX will cost? $1000-$1500? Not many people actually have this kind of money.

As for now, the nVidia cards are top, especially the 8800GTX. But, once the R600 is out by ATI, it'll dominate the nVidia cards (Possibly even in SLI mode). But the bad part of the R600 is it takes up 230watts.

Not bad, I had 2 10" Fubrs and they were ran off my old PPI amp and they pounded, once you get more power to that, you'll be suprised.

Wow!!! What a big difference in the before and after. What were both amps rated at RMS wise?

The lanzar didn't come with SPECIFIC rms ratings, but it said 200 @ 2ohms, do I believe it? Not one bit... The RF is rated at 250 @ 2 x 2, but my brother in law said the birth sheet said true RMS rating was 600 or something @ 4 x 1. So it should be somewhere around 300 rms per subs.

They're under powered right now, so I don't think they're going to blow any time soon. They only thing I'm worried about blowing is my rear deck, it literally sounds like it's a blown speaker. Once I can get the back seat out, I'm going to put some sound deadening under the rear deck so it'll stop rattlin' so much.

They're fairly loud, I'm taking out the rear 6x9's and when I build the ported box, the ports are going there. Then it will be a lot louder. They're nothing compared to most subs, but for $90, I couldn't pass it up. Once I get my settlement in, I'm buying 2 more HF12D4's and another Rockford P500.2 or 2 Orion 600D's. Luckily, these don't need to be in too much room for a ported box.

Yeah, I know quite a bit, been in the car audio world for the past 10 years, but I don't know everything that I would like to know. I'm just now getting into box building, which is why I am going to try a ported box, when I get my other 2 12's, suprisingly, I don't want to go for Fi, IA, SS, AA, ect ect. I'm very pleased wih the performance of the rockford amp and the Hifonics subs.

Hey thanks both of you, this is just for temporary. I will be getting two more Hifonics HF12D4's and another P500.2, they will then be going into a ported box, and if I don't like it, they'll be going back into 2 prefab boxes.
