  1. http://www.sksboards.com/smf/index.php

you can modify it to full auto but its illegal and there isnt any point... the gun will fire as fast as you can pull the drigger... bump firing is easy

So I'm not the only one on here with the M59/66 yugo version.

  2. I am buing a SKS in about 2weeks. It is from one of my stepdads friends, so i know it is legit. I have looked at it, and everything is all good. It comes with everything, but the bayonet, and cleaning rods. I just want to check out the legal issues. I know the assault rifle ban was lifted in 04, but it is either the 20round, or 30round clip that is illegal. If anyone has one, or any info about it, LMK, or give me some links. Also, it is semi auto, is there any way to make it fully auto? If not, dont flame. I am a mature adult, not a 16y/o kid.

Oh, i do plan on getting a pistol grip stock. Something similar to this...

  3. I didn't know that, I always thought that the larger enclosures were more efficient. What is the difference in sound from sound from a large enclosure to a small one tuned to the same frequency, withe same amount of port area? Remember this will be a daily system not a competition system.

After rereading your reply the smaller enclosure loses some output on the low end. I want it to hit low and loud with as much efficiency as possible.

  4. smaller enclosures tend to hit higher on the meter, but you may lose around 1 DB on the low end around 30-35ish hz. i'm building my next box (if the t-line doesnt sound good enough) around 12-13 cubes for my 4 15's

  5. general rule is 12-16 square inches of port per every cubic foot. with more power on hand...i'd generally go with slightly smaller port area.

also you are correct, those are straight SPL boxes. made for one note.

Thats basically what I gathered from my reading on different setups. So the 320 square inches of port for 4 comp vr 15's in a 20 cubic foot net enclosure too much or ok in your opinion?

  6. i think the closer to square you can get the port the better as far as how much is too much, i have no idea, i didnt there was such a thing....i have seen competitor setups where you can literally walk inside the port.

but im not 100% sure on either of these, so someone please clarify if i am mistaken.

I have seen pics of some huge ports but i think they were solely for spl purposes, not daily. Anyone else have any input on this?

  7. Ok here goes, I know this has probably been beat to death. How much port area is too much? I have been reading alot about port area as of late. I am contemplating a wall with 4 Kicker Comp VR 15's with 20'^3 net tuned to between 35-40hz for a daily driver. Would 320"^2 of port be too much? I was looking at the DD box recommendations and it says 12-16"^2 per cubic foot of air space. Ok one more question the 1:9 port ratio, could someone clarify this? I think it means that if my port were say 10 X 30 it would be a 1:3 ratio correct? Would this ratio be favorable?

So it was two more questions. B)
