  1. so after calculating this and watching the videos posted in the thread i think i should probably sale off the 14v battery i got a wicked deal on in a package deal and invest in a 12v battery. it looks like i would have to step down everything to make it work or am still a little confused to tell you the truth. i have a d1400 on the way and to run the battery it looks like i would need the step down module and the alternator voltage converter piece which would cost as much as just buying another battery...

  2. my 2 amps are a infinity kappa 4 for the speakers a kx1600... im thinking this 14v xsd1400 batt was a bad purchase i just got it for really cheap brand new so i can't complain

Why do you think it was a bad purchase?

getting ahold of a bolt in alt rate now is being a bit of a bitch and if im buying stuff just to make this battery work i got to make sure i can get a alt setup together to charge it. Asked mech man he says he can send me the parts but i will have to fab a bracket im currently in conversation with dc power but haven't heard anything back "because its the weekend im sure" but the only mazda 3 alts they show are discontinued https://www.dcpowerinc.com/fit/2006~Mazda~3~2.0L/11008-190-hp.html

  3. OK, here's the deal guys-

The Standard S series housings for the unit that Reed originally ordered were on back order. Reed's order was getting to be a couple weeks old, and we try to ship everything within 2-3 business days of ordering. We opted to upgrade him to a 250 amp Elite series unit at no additional charge, (as we had those housings in stock) just to try and speed up the delivery of the order. Additionally, we indicated to the customer that once we receive the unit to change the output stid location, we would upgrade it to a 370 amp Elite series at no additional charge. ($200 additional value) The fitment issue was caused because the Elite series unit has a slightly different output stud location than the S series, even though the bolt pattern and everything else is the same. The slightly different output stud location works fine on all the other hundreds of vehicles that this unit fits, but there is a small interference problem on the 2.4L apparently.

Now, we are getting thrown under the bus for not issuing an immediate refund for shipping , when A) we havn't even gotten the unit back yet, and B) we have not been provided with a proper invoice showing what the shipping cost. On top of all that, Reed is claiming that shipping was $40, when it only cost us $18 to ship the unit to him.

I feel as though we have done everything within our power to make it right for the customer, but we have learned over the years that you can't please everyone no matter how hard you try.

REED- If you are dis-satisfied with the customer service you have received so far, we would be more than happy to refund you the total amount for the order, plus your return shipping. (once a proper shipping receipt is provided, and once we receive the unit intact) I wholeheartedly apologize for any inconvenience you have suffered, I just wanted to step in and make sure that all the facts were known if someone is going to create a MechMan-bashing thread.

    regards,

    Matthew

i havent seen much bashing at all i think we all took your side bud :D and reed was just a little aggravated haha when temper goes up brains go down! thats a wicked upgrade package you offered to keep up the great work.

  4. Beginning next weekend I will be testing ALL DC amps on my AD-1. Each amp will be tested at 1 ohm, 2 ohm, and 4 ohm in all 3 modes. How do you think they will perform?

I have 30 XS 14v batteries to use for power. I will do my best to get the tests to come out as close to 14.4v as possible.

All ratings can be found here for reference. http://www.dcaudio.us/subsamps.html

Copy and paste the following and fill out with your guesses for 1 ohm output.

  5. ok so i have been wanting to get a 170 amp high output alt from mechman for almost a year. then i finally get the money and order it for my 2001 oldsmobile alero 2.4L. i wait a week and then i get a email that says the tracking code and everything. about a week later i receive my alternator. everything looks great and im super excited to put it in my car. go to my dads shop to put it in. we start taking out the old one and my dad is telling me that shit aint gonna fit. i just keep telling him dad its made just for my car and engine. so we try to put it in and the post and plug are on top of the alterntor instead of on the front. so the post is poking the intake and there is definitely no way this would work. so i take it out put my stock one back in mad as hell that i spent this money and it doesn't fit. so i call mechman and they tell me to send them pictures of the stock and the mechman alt. so i do and they tell me i can send it back so they can move the post and plug to the front were it was suppose to be the first time. i ask the guy brian i was talking to if i could get a shipping receipt so i wouldn't have to pay for shipping since i shouldn't have too. and he tells me we can send it back for free but you have to send it to us and pay for the shipping. so i get real pissed and he just says thats all we can do for you. so i said whatever and called them again and talked to someone else and i talk to josh and he is real cool trying to help me out. he tells me if i return it with my money and then email him a picture of the receipt they would reimburse me. so im like hell ya i guess things are starting to workout after im about to kill myself cause all the bullshit. so i send it off in about a hour and email him the receipt and tracking number and all he says is wow!! is shouldn't of been that much. it should of been no more then 20 bucks he said. and asked if i had special insurance or anything. i emailed him back saying my mom brought it for me and that was the cheapest they could do. which was 39 bucks. so its today and he still hasnt emailed me back from yesterday. so i email him again. call and couldnt get a hold of him. so now im just sitting here pissed cause i had to pay 40 bucks to ship something back that should of fit in the first place and they wont even give me my money back after they promised to reimburse me since its to expensive to give out shipping labels for free. so im just stuck now waiting to get a email.

i can see why your pissed man! but in the end mistakes happen. I know your angry now but man when its fired up and owering im sure it will all be worth it! i use to build rc planes and i had it on the runway 12 times and kept noticing flaws so i wouldn't take off and man was i pissed every time but everytime i put it back on the work bench a tweaked it a little more! when i finally had it all set right and it took off i was soo excited!

moral of the story wait until she fits and the shit along the wont matter ^^. If you want horrible customer service try online car stereo haha

  6. We will never send a box design with any of our subs. A proper box should be designed based on your vehicle and power you are putting to the sub. Every setup is going to be slightly different in some way, so a generic box design sent with every sub would be useless and incorrect.

makes sense to me thaks again for the help
