My serial number is 1111DT20967....Are the first 4 digits the one's I need to look at to see if mine has the upgrade?
nope it doesn't.......but if you arent playing around with the big amps (capable of over 15k) then you shouldn't have any problem.
Okay, thanks!

I work 15 minutes from this address...I cannot leave work early to go scope out the address but I'll be glad to be on the lookout for anyone that drives an 08 Avalance that may show up to any local car show/spl comps...I'm pretty involved in the local car audio scene here...Send me a PM or email me @ [email protected] if you need anything!

It needs to be in at least an 8 out of a scale of 10 in condition. $700 shipped to 31027. Prefer an amp with some warranty.

Heard this car today. It currently has 1 Nightshade 15 on a SAZ 100.4 bridged. So, the sub is getting approximately 400rms....WOW, is all I can say! And I applaud that sub for playing quite loud on so little wattage. Great designed sub I must say! Sundown FTW!!

naw i think its a fake we had this talk a while ago and it was US the members of SMD that caused him to take it down i mean in the other listings he would have shipped it . LOCAL PICK Up come on..... you know the amp is going to sell for about at least 7k so hes going to have you meet him some where and im sure he doesnt take checks soooooooo blam you get fucked for roughly 7 grand
Apparently some people are taking a chance...There are 16 bids now....I'm adding it to my watch list...I gotta see what happens.

i have all 4 cd's
Me 2....I got them from a guy who used to be a moderator on Sounddomain....

Good guy here....This system did well this past weekend in a show we both attended....Bump for some good stuff!!!

I forgot to ask...Has anyone on here actually used this design in a trunk car and if so did they like the results better than using a ported box????
-
That looks like one of 80's designs. If you go with it I highly recommend you seal that port to your rear deck.
Thanks for your advice.....If I decide to go with it, I'll make sure I stress that to him!
-
That needs to be updated... I only run one 15 now.... well nothing at the moment I pushed the Nightshade beyond its limits lol. Is he on the forums? If so what's his name?
OH....The SAZ 3000D was too much for the Nightshade, huh??
I don't know if he's on this forum or not....He is on the Car Audio forum. His name is Alex and his user name name on the CA forum is DB Designs Elite (He is also a local Sundown Dealer)...

if it were me...i'd say hell with it and build it see how it sounded. if i didnt like it, then i'd go to a standard ported box
Yah...I figure it cannot hurt to try, right?!
-
If he said that is just a vent for the air then I wouldn't trust that design unless double checking from an experienced designer. That is a 6th order and it is complicated to get them right.
According to this guy he's been building and designing boxes for over 15 years....I've seen some of his work and he definitely seems to know what he's doing. I viewed your profile and saw where you're running 2 15's in a trunk car. Do you have any pictures of your box? I'd like to see what you ended up doing..
-
6th order series tuned....it should work alright...depending on how large the top chamber is
He said it will be 7 cubes net and have an 8 X 19 rear deck opening and be tuned to 35....How well do you think it will perform in comparison to a standard ported box?
-
i dont get it does it have 2 ports?
From the way he explained it, the top port is just to vent it into the car. The other port is not actually open to the trunk and it takes the pressure from the downside of the subs and redirects it to the top 1/2 of the box (I think?). The pictures don't make that very clear.

Hello SMD people...
I own a Buick LeSabre and the back seats don't lay down so I've been speaking with a guy about how I can get more sound. I am currently running 2 15's in a sealed box. They are being powered by a Sundown 1500D @ 1 ohm. The guy I've spoke to has been in the car audio world for many years and he has come up with a box design that he said I can use my existing subs with. I told him I was interested in getting bass more than what I had with a sealed box but not lose a ton of sound quality. He said with this design, it will basically take all the bass out of my trunk and put it all into my cabin. It will entail cutting out a section of my rear deck but I'm okay with that. So....If you'd had experience with this type of box, let me know how it worked out. I realize that I can also just get a ported box which will also increase the bass as well but thought this design was neat since it would eliminate all of my trunk rattle.
Here's what I currently have:
Here's the design.. Its 7 cubes net and a 3.3 cube down chamber with a 8 x 19" rear deck opening. Tuned to 35. Here are three pictures:

Made a little vid......this thing SCREAMS and sounds good doing it! Camera does NO justice, it sounds like a damn concert at half volume and sooo clean!
Gorgeous!! I imagine those door speakers probably sound better than soooo many systems with a sub box!
