I just purchased a 2000 yukon with the intent of building a good street beat system. It consists of 4 Sundown Audio Zv3 15's, 4 dd M2A amps, 2 batcap 4000 batteries, a batcap 2000 battery. a dual alternator setup.
So far it has done a best of 154db's @ 37hz. Here's some pics. Enjoy

mine is 37hz.

I took out the Maxxlink, hooked up a couple splitters and strapped the amps. It works much better now. Plus I can run the other alternator now.
-
I could just leave it as is and order new alts from dc or mechman, but that would be a lot more expensive.
-
I bought the alt from pstone on here, it was used. I bought it to use in a dual alt setup. But back to your question of why I bought the Maxxlink. As stated above I have a Kenwood kdc-x994 that had only one sub output. I'm running four sub amps. One per sub. After I put the alt on and noticed the problem I called maxsonics tech support, I explained to them the situation and they said a lot of big SPL guys are using them in 17volt systems.
I unhooked the second alt that was charging over 15 and it worked fine, but once its connected again and the voltage goes back up the Maxxlink shuts down. After some research, I found that I'm not the only one that has had trouble with the Maxxlink at 15+ volts. Others have used them without failure.
I bought the Maxxlink because I didn't want to use splitters. But in order to use the dual alt setup, something has to change. That's why I'm tossing around the ideas of 2 subs on 2 amps strapped, or just run the six splitters and keep it 1 amp per sub.

My voltage wasn't supposed to go over 15v, but the alt I bought charges at 15.2v. So yes for my application it sucks. That's my opinion and I'm allowed to have it. But that wasn't the question that got asked. Thanks for reading.

I'm running 4 sundown zv3 15's on 4 dd m2a's. I've got one sub output on my Kdc-x994, as of right now I'm using a Maxxlink. But it doesn't like 15+ volts. So my two options are two splitters then strap the amps. Or six splitters and one amp per sub.

yup. sure do. and nope, i've just been working that much.

more power is coming. and i like this box but it could be better

i know its not the lowest. but he said he wanted close to a 2ohm load.
-
wire each sub up to 8ohm then wire them back down to get a 1.33 ohm load
-
damn twisted, since when do you do shit cause others bitch about it. but seriously great score man.
