  1. man u just cant put a damn motor in a 11 dollar flat rate box. there isnt enuff room for good padding. that is the guys fault for being such a dumb ass. no sympathy im sorry u gotta know heavy shit seems to always get beat up.

this happened to a buddy he had bought 2 DD G motors and one was misaligned had to get it fixed by dave at PSI were he got his motors built to 18"s

  2. doors look fucking good for the first time. any plans on redoing them. not that there bad but with a router you can counter sink them makes it much prettier. good job keep it up.

i want a router and yes maybe next season ill redo them and have that 8" SS mid bass that i wanted to do in the first place. yes i would loved to have counter sunk them!

very nice for real...mind if i copy you lol

if u want to lol...i went into this kinda blind for what i was gonna do with shape and placement. what really inspired me was seeing steves vid and him doing all the work he done.

  3. I have to admit when I first saw the cut-outs in the doors I was a little worried, but the end result looks pretty damn good.

yea me too. i was damn how am i gonna hide this shit.

doesn't look too bad good job, it looks like it needs a little filler right above where the speakers mount, looks a little jagged there nothing bondo couldn't fix

i did end up going back thought and trying to fill in more. but could have worked on shaping a little more but was sa damn sic of sanding lol.

looks good. i want to do something similar to my doors and w soundstream 6.5s too. :good:

thanks man. there are pretty damn good comps not just saying cuz they sponsor me.

  4. this is of course after sanding it the first time. them using filler putty to fill in all the low spots. this is after 3 times of sanding and refilling in the low spots

damn this part took sum time letting the putty dry resanding over and over. started out with 60 grit and went to 100 grit, finally sanded with 220 grit for the extra fine sanding.

after sanding put the last coat of finishing primer

was gonna vinyl the panels then thought about tweed but said the hell with it cuz it came out better than i thought. so just straight up painting them will look good.

  5. ok here i didnt have my cam for the fiberglassing, but its there under the bondo. 3 layers thick of 5 mil woven strips i cut from a big sheet.

    45.jpg

here i was just test fitting the comps to see if there flat all around the mid and it was a bit off on the bottom right corner. i used more bondo raise it up flat.

here i spayed black primer on it for when i sand them down the low spots would really stick out.

  6. this is my first ever time fiberglassing and doing sumthing like this. ive seen ppl do glassing but never helped just watch.

so dont laugh to bad  but i think i did a decent job.

i had to change it up, i was gonna do a 8" SS mid in each door and redone it for dual 6.5" comps.

used sum felt from jo anns fabrics to put over the MFD rings. sprayed it down with 3M super 90 to hold it down with.

    042-1.jpg

    043.jpg

mixed up resin to coat the felt and give it a hard shell to start to lay the fiberglass down. put 2 coats of resin and did the inside of the doors were felt was showing.

  7. thats what i was looking to spend about 1200 so this kit would be good?

    http://www.fbirides.com/product.asp?idno=277771

well yer still gonna need the 4 link cuz it dont come with it. depending on what truck or car u have there may be different brakets u may need. mine all came to just over $2k shipped but i got a 8.5 gal tank, dual air compressor upgrade, 2 dual and 1 single air gauges, AVS 7 button swtich box. yer gonna have to call them and ask. the price didnt cover the bigger upper and lowers (CA's), 2" drop spindles.

that jpk kustoms is from indy i see yer from there too. shipping might not be to bad if yer real close.

  8. the basic would be just the front, back but thats only 4 valves. with 8 valves u will have a better ride and air control between bags. i got mine from here http://www.jpkustoms.com/catalog/-c-22.htm...fb586b991e00dbf

i got my gas tank, differential, carrier baring brakets from here....they do sell kits thats are trust worthy too http://www.fbirides.com/shopping_department.asp?cat_idno=110

they sell good stuff u can look into suicide doors.com , but stay away from airbagit.com same company but chassis tech. there cheap as hell but u get what u pay for!! dont cheap out on what holds yer truck up!!!

  9. Erm you'll have a horrible time trying to get it out when you want to put the SS in later.

Deaden it (2 layers) THEN great stuff it and you'll end up with a very solid trunk, just remember the factory gas struts (if you have them) might not be up to lifting/holding it up any more.

Also if you're filling voids then it becomes illegal for dbdrag Street Classes, instant SS1-2NW or SS if your trunk lid is above the window line (lol such anal-retentive rules...)

i would deaden first then use the great stuff thats what i did with my truck. 3 layers of 6 mil aluminum faces butyl rubber deadner. i know its not a trunk but way better to great stuff after the deadner.
