  7. school/career choices

    Well i am getting ready to head to school for Criminal justice. I start next month, and from other ppl ive talked to and stuff its a great path to follow. My plans are becoming a law enforcement officer.. aka cop, then working my way up and doing schooling to get to be a federal agent or CIA or something...

    My backup option is a peformance musician or teacher.. or even and engineer.. there are a TON of fine arts careers and stuff to do with music.. Maybe you could look into it at a local school..

    My other backup option was UTI or wyotech or something and become a mechanic.. i know the money isnt top notch like someother.. but its good for a nice middle class family income.. which is all i expect to make anyways..

    nice!! it would be awesome to meet some ppl from here.. not many ppl that know anything about anything has personally seen my truck.. and i havnt seen any rides really to brag about around here haha. would be some nice demoing going on if i go.. ill try and get my truck wraped up and aligned soon today..

    o/t but is that a burnt-out silverado next to the neon?

    haha ya, i figured someone would ask about it.

    It was in a garage fire. And it didnt touch the motor/ trans or any of the drive train. My dad bought it for like 800 bucks, and the trans was a fresh rebuild.

    He ended up usuing the motor in a truck that the motor had locked up and charged the guy 800 bucks for the motor.. so he broke even off it.. Now its there for parts..

    i think im going to try and find a computer and a 5 speed from an srt, or a turbo PT.

    But the things im buying for the motor in the up coming weeks is

    Eagle rods

    JD pistons

    or

    SRT internals

    Then i gotta get other odds and ends to finish it off

    New turbofold

    P/P intake

    crane cams/ 2.0 cams

    custom motor/PS/AC mounts for a 2.4

    New 5 speed trans

    3pc clutch

    Short throw shifter

    SRT/PT axles

    HKS BOV

    Full exhaust

    Intercooler

    Full piping

    Have the head P/P

    gotta find a donor car for clutch assembly, and other odds and ends like wiring harness

    Need to decide on a turbo.. wanna do about a stock 15psi for street and bump it up to 25 or so for racing

    Im going to try to get as close to 500HP as i can at the flywheel and 400HP at the wheels, and do so for less than $3,000

    Appearance will stay stock other than maybe a set of rims, due to the fact that i need to blend in if street racing haha

    To much attention while racing on the street racks up a ton of tickets... Its stupid in the first place, but its fun.

    so if anyone knows where deals are on anything mentioned above, it would be a great help

    So i am finishing up my truck for now, after the lowering im doing now im getting to the point where i wanna mess with something else.

    Now this build isnt really going to be much of anything about audio, but i figured i would post it up here, thought some of you would be interested.

    Audio wise, i will prolly do a alpine deck, and some comp sets in the doors.. and thats about all..

    But i recently picked up my 2nd neon, after selling my first one (95 4 door auto sohc).

    This one was givin to my father.. the guy had it and another one.. this one was sitting since 06 and his other one he drove.. well after his motor locked up, he gave it to my dad to take the motor out and put it in the one he drove, and after doing so the guy told my dad to keep the old one to junk or do whatever with.. So i took it upon my self to "take it off his hands"

    Then today, something else comes into my hands. My father and i work on all sorts of cars everyday, doing anything to them to fix em. But today a stratus comes in with a locked up motor. The block and the head are in good condition, and we are just going to buy a used motor and swap it out, so the old stuff goes in the scrap pile. So he said i can keep the junk motor for a rebuild.

    So what does one do when he has a motorless neon and 2.4 sitting around =)

    This isnt going to be an overnite build, but i will be ordering new parts as i get more money. But basicly all i know that i wanna do atm is a turbo motor. Im looking into Eagle rods and JE pistons and such, but idk what all i should buy. And idk even know what i should do about a computer so any help would be greatly welcomed!!

    Now on to some pics.... The car has been sitting for years and i havnt had any time to clean it up, but the paint is in mint condition under the grime, and its virtually rust free.

    I am actually getting some of those LED strips for under my dash, along with a few other places aroudn my truck, ive used them b4 and they are nice. And i have a spare cubby under my climate controls, i am getting a EQ and installing it there to get rid of the empty space... could be helpful for you as well, you never know.

    I have one of those sunpro tri guage pods for my truck, but i am getting another volt instead of temp, im going to have one testing the front and one on the back batterys, so i know there are no problems, and then the oil pressure is good cuz the factory one sucks.

    other things you could do, is paint, reapolster some of the little odds and ends to make them look better, more custom.
