  1. well a 260 is better than stock. as long as you have a couple of good batteries with a a minimum of 2 runs of 1/0, you'll be fine. yeh it sucks for us Ford owners. i haven't seen a dual alt setup either. you getting that missinglink module right? if so that will help too as you already may know.

ya. oh well cant do much about it....dual alt would be AMAZING but i dont know that that will ever happen. im just going to have to wait till i get out of college and save some cash and get a chevy, cadillac, etc. preferably a nice big longbed crew cab cuz iv been thinking something up now for a while.

  2. i'd do a 220 and a 300, that way you get some good idle power

ok the 300 says its 135 idle

and there is a 240 that is 165 idle

is that high enough? so considering the heat issue that missinglink brought up i could count on probably 340 amps driving and then 300 idle? would that be enough? the battery thing also are the yellowtops ok? or is it worth it to shell out the extra hundred for powermaster?

  3. Well what kinda car is the most important question?

A single 300 amp alt once HOT will lower its output because of internal heat. You should only count on 200amps at max for your output in most single alt cases due to heat (internally controlled), and the rest of your cars components. If you want 2 -4000D's and 2- 4ch amps you are looking @ well over ANY single alt /battery or ies limits. One 300amp alt and 4 big batteries might keep up for a little bit, but you will need to keep a close eye on your voltage. If the voltage drops quick then you do not have enough storage and your alt wont be able to keep up. 2-4000d and 2 -4ch amps will pull well over any alts output compacity. One alt on 4 batteries with that much draw will have a hard time keeping up. Check on the idle output if you will play at shows/demo alot most 300amp alts have a low idle output. Hope some of this helps ,good luck

hey thanks. ok then well its one of the iraggi alts and it says it idles at 135. so then should i try to get 2 300s then??

also thanks everyone for the input and help

  4. Somewhere seriously told you to just buy a cap with that kinda power? lol

hahaha well they said cap my original system which was just 2 10" qs running off a hk4000d and then the p4004 for the doors.....but ya now im doing 2 12"s and then adding 2 pairs(that makes 4 right?) of components and putting components in all the doors instead of just the 5x7s that i got. I got an yellowtop under the hood right now. so general census is what? 2-3 more batteries? running 2 4000 watt amps and then the 2 4 channels.....does it matter if i have a yellowtop as my starter battery and then would it hurt anything if i use powermasters for everything else?

  5. and this is for a sq setup?

your front stage is going to die trying to keep up with the sub frequencies

I just posted it in the sq forum cuz im not trying to enter competitions. I want it as loud as i can but still usable in a daily application.

  6. I have a 2004 F150 super crew. Walling off the back seat isnt an option but I am going to take out the middle seat from the back seat and center console the back seat. Im going to try and put either 2 12 or 2 15 btls. What would fit and how much airspace will I need? and will I have enough? For amps im thinking the hifonics brutus 2608 one on each. I have one p4004 on the door speakers right now. i was going to get another one and put components in the pillars. And finally the electrical system. Im already planning on upgrading the alt but should I get one or 2 high output alts? and then for batteries? 2 kinetik or yellowtop? or more than 2? any info or input would be appreciated
