  1. While I understand what your saying it's all I could think of doing. I'm sure a knock test means something. But I'm no expert.

What I can tell you is that I misapplied one piece. I tried removing it without great luck. Thought I would damage it. I left it, and just made cuts around my misapplication. Even the parts I cut out were stuck nicely. I should say that I cleaned every surface with denatured alcohol prior to applying.

  2. Working on my buddies 08 f-450 work truck and applying some Damplifier. Trying to get enough coverage but not going overboard.

I did a before and after tapping video and let me tell you that I am sold. I've personally never used any sound deadening so I have nothing to compare it to for other brands. But I don't think I'll ever care about other brands because this stuff was easy to use.

    Before video

    After video

Hopefully the videos worked. Put them up from my phone.

    Thanks second skin.

  3. I realized I should have just asked here.

How much port volume will I need for 4 x Sundown x-6..5sw tuned to 32hz and also tuned to 36hz (trying to see which will fit) if my net volume of the subwoofers are 1.2 cubic feet. The port I current have is 3.5 x 5 x 23.5 for 36hz and the said net volume of 1.28 cubic feet.

Just asking for my work to be double checked because I am so dang new to all this.

Thank you for all your help and sorry for posting this question slightly different in other areas.

  4. Is there any advantage to going overy the factory thick as hell putty looking stuff with damp pro?

Depends on what the factory stuff is made of and how much is applied there. If it is just an asphalt/tar product it is only sound deadening by weight not by actually absorbing the vibrations. If it is covered every where then there wouldn't be much benefit to adding Damplifier Pro on top except that the metal would be more solid and rigid, as the Damplifier Pro is intended (and performs best) when actually attached to the metal to absorb the vibration waves. If the factory product seems to be doing a decent job of vibration control than just put a Mass Loaded Vinyl like Luxury Liner Pro on top of it to decouple the air borne waves, block out sound, and give a great thermal value.

I plan to do the doors and roof with this first. I heard the roof is hands down the biggest culprit for bad sound. I could be wrong, but I could have sworn that was gospel.

  5. same cab as an f250.

    f250-750 uses same cab.

Thanks. I have an F-150 and his truck makes mine look tiny (story of my life).

same here man. I drive an 06 SuperCrew F150 as a daily, and I've been working out of a 2012 F-550 with a 19.5ft rollback. Superduty cab is just huge

Have any links to your truck if you have done a build in it? Always looking for ideas on the minimal spacing we have in these trucks.

  6. Here's the link to a company that I used for my seat lift. The kit is only $145 plus $18 S&H. Increases the overall lift of the seat by 2.5 inches. If you have a hardware store that sells 1/8 inch think washers, you can add a few of them to increase the overall seat lift height by putting those on the bolts/studs before installing the seat lift kit from LMI Welding. Overall, it was a great kit to work with. Very easy and the instructions are easy to follow as well.

Thank you so much. I was planning on doing my own kit, but after looking at that, it seems well worth the money.

I'll be picking that kit up.

  7. Really thinking this is going to be the plan, if it can fit.

I can sacrifice under the fold up seats but I can't give up much more room. It hauls my kids to practice but I am dead tired of stock everything in the truck.

    I measured 54 W x 12 D x 5H (but it has a rise under the seat to 8") that I can work with.

I will do my best trying to sketch something up but I am no artist.

Hoping to do 2 subs on the left and right with the slot port in the middle.

Sundown website says these need about .3 ft^3 so I really think I can make this work.

Hoping someone with a similar setup has some ideas on how to get started since the box won't be "square" or how I would go about making the internal ports.

    Thank you in advance.

  8. Thanks for totally kicking my ass with them boats and choppers last night.

What are you guys using to fly the chopper and plane?

    I use a Logitech joystick.

    Brian uses a worthless keyboard.

Steve I thinks uses a Xbox controller.

    Idk what everyone else uses.

I tried the keyboard, seemed worthless.

For flying the xbox controller works better then I am limited to user error.
