  1. Thanks Kory. I didn't just want to change classes in the middle of the season last year. I don't know if you know this but I actually started out in 139.9 at the begining of the year last year for one show, then I decided to just run in 129.9 to help save my equiptment for the whole year. Mike told me that you guys have been working on your car, and it's going to be pretty loud when it's finished. I'm only about .3 db away from doing a 150 on a burp. Once I get a new alt from Jake I think I'll be there easily. My voltage is dropping to 12.3 on a burp and the alt will help hold it up higher. Good to hear from you man.

Yea i think i do rember you running 39.9 at a show once lol.....but yea right now man im just messin around in my winter beater, a 94 escort wagon i picked up from my grandmother haha....got both hd 15"s and both sundowns...havent played with it on the metter much but it will be over a 151 purb once i tune it in...should bassrace 149.9 well too...as for the cadi, its stripped and getting ready for a nice V-wall haha

  2. I hold respect for this guy but I call bullshit :bsflag: on anyone that can't pull off their numbers under everyday circumstances.

I do not respect numbers that are gotten by putting the passenger seat down or any other tricks that aren't part of a dailly driver.

I do feel taking the back seat out is a different storie though. (As long as it pertains to the install)

You must have missunderstood me, i was sugesting that to posibly obtain his desired SPL goal, he test a few "variables" as well call em in the db drag industry. And one of them is simply leaning the factor seat forward to a factory postition, not removing it or modifying it at all

Anyway to the OP, also try the head rest location, remove them, put them all the way up, try all the way down....also the rearview mirror...try agnle all the way down pointing at the floor.

  3. -Hard charge your batterys before you go into the lane

-Try braicing the front window, front doors (one at a time)

-Try doing a roll-up on the burp

-Try deadening the driver door, then the pass(one at a time)

-Usualy if you can lean your pass seat ALL the way forward, almost till it hits the dash will add a few tenths

-Make sure all grounds and power wires are 100%

-Use a o-scope to fine tune your max clipping volume from your amp

-Round over the inside of your baffle were the speaker basket sits

    -Round all corners inside box

-Fine tune the aero ports, cut 1/4" off each at a time and test peak

-Run your A/C before a run to chill things off a little

Thats all i can thing of right now that dont really cost much money...some things will help you, and some may hurt...its all about taking your time and test one variable at a time

  4. Here are two vids from last weekends Region 5 last SPLMAX CUP show.

First is of me and nick probst first round in the 139.9 class

Second is of me and world champ adam triff in the simi finals. After five runs, cars off and operating from outside, i busted at the very last second...o and all the ties are with perfect 139.9's....just goes to show how tuff the shows are in our region, and this is a 1X imagine hows finals in indy is gonna be lol

  5. Hi this is jake founder of team roadquake. I was laid off due to finances and I am now in business for myself! Our team had a great run this year and my lincoln did a 160db. So opening a shop I thought would be a great financial move. It's located in Parma , Oh. 4415 Brookpark Rd. 440-308-3116!! We've already started alot of custom installs. We plan on building alot of high scores and bass race vechiles. I wanted to give our team a home and here it is so come check us out!

Jake i beleive that address is actualy cleveland not parma, you might wanna make sure

  6. Ahh yes the good old powerhorns

at low to mid 150s on music a set of components sure does not keep up

so why not stay clear at least?

selenium makes a nice set of horns I am putting together for my other build.

Right now I am doing the same numbers as the LMS ultras (154s uncharged) off half the equipment with tc5200s for a few reasons

I stepped up port area as well as tuning

shrunk the box slightly and dropped the hieght as well for better airflow

also to accomidate for reactive load being somewhat high in the old box

obviously the lows don't murder the car anymore which is nice but the 40-50hz range is extremely painful to the ear.

The SQ aspects of the vehicle are gone with these woofers but I don't care becuase setting the car up for the mic instead of daily was a nice change.

putting two tc3000 12s in right now

    ...for the 149.9 class

I wouldnt say that completly. After experince with both setups mike i think the 5200's sound just as good as the lms's but just not on the lows due to port area. Both woofers sound great and get hella loud but since the new box does the same number with half the power i think i like the 5200 a little better.....but the lms's deff kill the lows lol

  7. Stop arguing about the name, color, logo, technology or designer. What it comes down to is that the REVO is a very great and extemly effiecent woofer and will get loud off of 1500 to 2000 watts, and sound great doing it. If this woofer is in the price range of the OP than i would deff recomend it, i have heard ever single audio pulse driver and couple of thilos tc sounds drivers and they are all build strong and perfrom great.

  8. gotta love the splmax cup race.. definitely anybodies right now. Were destroying each other out east. Like at defiance i did 9 perfect 139.9 runs in a row and still took 4th... because i red-light.

o man do i rember that show.....that was a do a 139.9 ever time or go home show lol...ties galore for sure
