  1. if i didnt hear about alot of problems with catera's i might try and snatch this but i have no cash and it would be a trade and ur not looking for other car ha, and well ur asking price is way way below what i would take for my car, this would just be a great platform for me to get the ball rolling

All the problems that these cars would normaly get have already been fixed on this one lol. Trust me my bank account shows it. What car are you selling and whats asking price?

    Anyway BUMP!

$1500 cash for car with 250amp alt/ext reg, wall, fiberglass doors, all wiring, alarm, and bunch of new parts!

  2. For sale is a very special 1998 Cadillac Catera. This car was used as my competition vehilce.

    Location = Cleveland Ohio

Huge 250 amp Alternator with external regulator and 0 gauge wire = $350 (installed this year)

    New windsheild = $160

Car runs great, some front end noise due to a bad bearing plate and strut. Mechanic says it is not dangerouse at all and will just make noise and not harm anything.

Still get 26 MPG highway even with the weight, trany shifts smoooth.

Rear and side windows blacked out.

Subs, amps and batterys are not included in this price but are for sale if intersted.

If you would like the bank of all 8 batterys with copper busbar add $600 to sale price ($900 value).

I can include some american bass subs and amps for a very good price.

For more info email or txt 216-536-7439 or PM

This needs SOLD ASAP! Need cash to buy a van for my next project!

Wall is not sealed off in pics, but currently is completly sealed and fiberglassed around the wall.

If you need refs just ask!

  3. LOL. What, the thread or my though process? :D

BTW, I think I'm even closer. Assuming the TL mic is approx. .3" in diameter, then the formular works! I'm kinda happy, but don't want to celebrate too early.

    Thanks man.

And that info completely blows the formula out of the water. LOL. Oh well. But then agian, maybe not.

Oh, and yeah, SPL is logarithmic. That's part of my formula.

No prob. I would be interested in seeing ur formual tho, being a phys/math person i might be able to help....one thing u could do is derive an equation on how much preasure it takes on the diaphram on the mic sensor to create a certain spl level...but the actauly power/cone area to creat that preasure is deff somethign no forumla can explain

  4. what exact information do you need?

The actauly opening on the black box sensor is around 1/8" the opening of the actaul preasure sensor (the mic inside the black box) is around maybe 1/32"

not trying to bash you man but its extermely hard to derive any formual that is a bit accurate when it comes to spl..spl is in no way linear as well...either way i admire you interest and drive toawrds what your doing, good job and good luck

  5. So I know everyone is into 8's these days

    I was thinking

    a box resembling a V8 Engine..

    With (8) 8's

and of course you would run Sundown E8's lol

The volume isnt calculated or anything I just sketched this up.. How much volume for an 8 anyway? Like .75 Cu Ported?

anyway 4 woofers on each "head" and the amp in between on the top sorta looks like an engine block

with a 10" aero at the bottom like where the fan or w/e might go... i was think .75 Cu * 8 subs = 6 Cu , 10" aero = 78.5 sq in of port.. 78.5/6 Cu =13.33 sq in of port per cube

and the woofers pounding away sorta like the pistons in the engine moving,,,

    idk

you could put one of these in your back seat,, and bass race a "mid engine" setup?????

it would never work, and deff not if you tried to build it!! you fail at the internet, sketch up, car audio, and life in general.....(and whats up with all your newb posts, seems like now that you dont know anyone in the car audio business your dumb factor has multipleid!! haha

  6. his box is also built like a brick wall :fyi:

true, and probably aound high 150 decibels to the amp, regarless of how strong the box is, actauyl since steevs is a large box then what this guy is using and since hes more than likely not doing high 150's then there is no comparison, his amps will be 100% fine as long as he screws them down tightly, also rubber spacers are a good idea as mentioned above.

aslo if im not mistaken, steeves box is single layer 3/4" and some fiberglass...strong for an enclosure, deff...brick wall...not even close.
