a capacitor stores energy and releases it upon a drop in energy (when your subs hit), but it isnt good for your electrical system.
but yeah, a cap wont do you much of anything most of the time. a nice battery would be better than a cap anyday

I got this pretty old mtx amp from a freind and its a 2 channel....on the back it says 280 watts dynamic power (ihf-202) bridged into 4ohms (14.4vdc)................. wtf does that mean????
it means if you wire your subs to 4 ohms and bridge the amp (positive end of the wire on the far left negative on the far right) and feed the amp the right amount of voltage (14.4) it will put out 280w rms (never ever go by somethings "maxx" wattage its just a selling scheme)
just an example but i dont know if your amp can handle 2.6 ohms bridged :x
