I have one of these wired 1 ohm on a BE1700.1d hifonics built a box 1.25cuft after displacements tuned at 33hz in a 4th gen explorer and it puts out nice clean lows decent impact not painful to listen too and does not shake everything apart.... I bought the lvl3 with AR Cone upgrade...if I could do it again I would consider the lvl4 because my amp has about 500 more watts than this sub can actually handle .. yes its under rated

Ok I have owned all kinds of subs over the years and well this thing is the meanest thing I have ever owned. I have one at 1 ohm on a mb quart amp running 1000Watts rms. I run a dual battery set up in my jeep and I have it in a prefab Belva Sub Box 1SV12G they say it's 1.8 cubes after sub and what not thing its about 1.5 cubes woofer say it needs 1.25 in a vented box. but it sounds great during my break in period at half power I was at a buddies house 6 to 10 feet away from his garage door and we could see the door shaking. Now at full power and this thing is just crazy I know they say 900 watts rms but its taking my 1000watts rms like nothing I have ever seen. I have had other subs on this amp that clamed 1000 and they just couldn't hold it that's why I paid more for this one. I was told that dc underrates there products and I must say they are right, I feel as if this thing could hold maybe at most 1500watts rms, but at the end you get what you pay for. So just buy it and you will see for yourself this is just a great woofer and yes I would recommend this to anyone and will say i'm looking to the future already and wanting to get a level 4 or 5 from dc I am now a big fan.

OverallDurabilityValueFeaturesDesignUsabilityDc audio 12" level 3 subJanuary 22, 2015
Dc audio has been the best street pounding sub I have ever owned. The level 3 series can handle some serious power.i currently have a Rockford t1500-1bd pushing just one sub in a Jeep Wrangler and it rattles everything around it.i am not even pushing this bad boy to its limits.i would highly recommend this sub I even picked it over a sub custom built from Psi.Sonic electronics had this thing shipped and to my door in 2days and it weighed a ton.customer service was great helping me pair it to the right ohm load as wel.Dont waste your time buying Jl audio when you can have some of the best subs for the same cost that can handle more power and sound lot better in my opinion for half the cost.these subs are competition grade.just view them on you tube to see for your self.

get some pride 6.5's get 15 of em that would be an interesting thing to see

12's can get low and high. they are the all around can do everything.
15's usually are not the best with getting th ehigher bass notes, but the lows it will most likly destroy a 12.
if you like a full range of bass with decent all around sound do a 12
if your just trying to piss off the whole neighborhood to a 15.
My 15's slam 40-60hz like it's nobodies business.
that a boy

but thats just what i have noticed in the 4 years of messing with subs. so if im wrong please let me know.

sundowns usually need a big box, i have 4 shallow mounts 12" and they take up almost my whole back seat in my pick up. and depends on what you want. 12s usually are great for the all around music, and 15s are for shaking your face off lows. ive always gone 2 12's because well its just nicer. but thats just me.

maybe getting something a little bigger....
-
damn, they look damn good. might have to look into that for my next box
-
It was a dual 12' duals in that weird band-pass box with the Plexiglas cut off of it.
Can I get some input?

They are some great subs, id say keep em and add them to whatever you need.
