  1. on my kenwood deck (edit sorry i put amp lol) i have the bas to -2, mid to -1 and high to 0. i wish i could be there to hear, because i didnt catch exactly you do not like. first i heard that your high's are harsh now you dont like the subwoofers. like sum1 said unplug the subs, tune the mids/highs to where they sound good for you. when you are happy plug the subs back in and tune them, dont turn the gain up all the way!!!! if your installer is good they set the gain right so dont mess with it. turn the cossover frequency to about 100hz (those mids should be handling everything down to probably like 80hz with eez) and turn up the bass boost till you like it. if you hear distortion that isnt good, turn the bass boost down or adjust your listening volume. i have never had a kicker subwoofer have a problem, some of them i have seen have taken a massive beating were other subs would have blown (gain turned up all the was, BB on HU and amp all the way up) and they still worked after a week of the dumb kid beating on them.

IMO the shop you are going to is ripping you off, if you dont like the way the system sounds they should not be charging you ontop of what they already have (i may be wrong im sketchy on the details) but more expensive stuff isnt always better if it isnt tuned properly.

    best of luck to you

  2. If you have enough room for 1 or 2 more subs to be put in the box, then I know for a fact your box is too big. Get a smaller box, or if you happen to have enough room and don't mind considering this whole scenario as an L and a learning experience, then get (2) 12s or (2) 15s. What are they trying to sell you more of?

well I got a appointment for dynomatting the roofnext week for one and it just seems their beating around the bush when it comes to getting me what I want when this all started I had a totally differnt system from what I have now and we just keep bringing back in stuff for more expensive stuff and the sound just never gets any better

  3. After seeing the pics I personally think, for the type of subs you have the box is to big. You could deffenitlly do one or two more and most likely use that same box. Sadly The box does look like 12's and maybe maybe just mabye 15's could have fit. But unless you want a new box do you know what the port looks like in the box and how far it goes in? If you cut the holes for two subs would it cut into any part of the port? Do you know what the specs on your subs are (RMS not peak ) And for the amp if you wanted you could get another one if you wanted (I would ), but that depends on the watts of your subs. Last but not least What gauge wiring do you have. It looked like 8 gauge to the amps powering the highs and 4 gauge powering the amp to the subs? Do both of these wires go all the way to the batt.

yes both wires go to the battery they were supposed to put 4 guage on both amps Whant amp would u suggest the T1500 or the 1000 if I was to go to CVT 12s I do belive I could put at least 1 more 10 in that box without cutting into the port When I messed with the amps to get the settings for ghost I somehow changed the settings now the bass sounds like shit 4 sure .Like I said I know 0 about this subject

  4. Your settings appear to be off for your highs. Turn the sub off/bass down, or unplug the RCAs to troubleshoot the highs. Turn the volume about half way up, and play with the settings on the amp until you get the sound you want. Don't mess with the gain, just the frequency settings on the amp. Does your radio have a built in EQ and/or crossover? I'm not familiar with Kenwood HUs. If so, scratch changing the settings on the amp and switch to full mode for the front and rear channels and set everything from the head unit. As far as your subs are concerned, like someone else stated, that box sounds WAY TOO BIG for (2) 10s. You probably won't get the punch you want until you get a smaller box. 10s can hit hard, really hard, if they're in the right box.

P.S. Is this local retailer charging you money just to look at and "tune" your system when they did the initial install???

not charging to tune but seems like everytime I go in there they want to sell me more stuff and I buy it and I cant tell the difference in sound just wanted to get another opinion on it so you think Ive got the right amp for the bass how about if I take the other side of the box and put 2 more 10s in it I got room in the box for it but if I do that wil I need to getg a bigger amp or just put another one on the 2 I buy like the 1 I got??

  5. Several questions... 1.)When you say not putting out sound like it should, do you mean volume, bass, or clarity?

2.) Measure your box and tell me what size it is-L x W x D.

3.) What do you have the settings on the amp at?

4.) Do you hear any distortion at all when you turn it up?

the mids are were screaming before I took it in this last time they did something to it that made it lower clarity is fine no distortion when I turn it all the way up

bass amp settings is Infrasonic Filter off Punch EQ 3/4 way up HZ looks to be just over 65 gain at 5

front side on the mid amp is set to AP Punch EQ 1/4 way up HZ 240 gain is set to 6

rear side on the mid amp is set to AP Punch EQ 3/4 HZ 125 gain set to 6

Dont know the size of box my little boy tore my tape measure up but it looks to be 4 foot long 1.5 foot wide and its tapered with the width starting about 8 inches and tapering of to 2 or 3 in

  6. WHATS UP??

I was needing some help with the system I just put in my truck.I know 0 about this stuff I had it installed at a car audio shop but I dont think iots putting out the kind of sound it should. Ive been back several times to where it was installed but they just keep giving me the run around and every time I go in there I end up spending more money and my system never sounds any different. I just wanted to know what yall thought about it and maybe give me some tips on tuning it myself or if I need more suff let me know that as well. This is the stuff Ive had installed its in a 2006 Chevy 2500HD extended cab.

    Kenwood Excelon KDCX692

Boston 6.5 SX60 (tweeters and all) in the front doors

Kicker 5.25 in the back doors

Amps for the highs is a Rockford Fosgate P4004 2ohm

subs are 2 kicker CVT 10s in a custom box the speakers are side by side behind the drivers seat with the box extending all the way across with a air hole behind the passenger seat

amp for the subs is a Rockford Fosgate T5001 the new smaller kind

Everythigs hooked up with 4 guage wire

Im tired of spending money on this but if I need more let me know its better to have a opinon from someone whos not trying to sell you something
