MUUUCH better
How many cubes you lookin at?
Whats it goin in and how much power?
this is currently at 16.5 cubes. I plan on running 4 DC LVL4 XL 15's powered by twin DAT HF2500.1 all this crammed in a 89 ext fullsize chevy. :hairtrick:

not really concerned with that but i listen to a lot of rock and alt and that sounds better sealed but i was also thinkin that when i listen to rap and hip hop it might be cool to switch the box from sealed to vented at the touch of a button ya know it would probably be the first of it's kind nobody go stealing my idea by the way i'll hunt ya down and do nothing lol take that
go for it i dont see why it wouldnt seal if you use some bad ass 3m household weather seal on some 45* cuts. where do you plan on mounting the actuators?
-
holy hell mad excursion on those things.
-
here is a MUCH BETTER design i think this is gonna be the one.
this one is actually built to scale. god i hope it works. may need to go a little bigger to get the cubes i need with the bracing i need to add.
-
im having a rough time seeing the design, it looks like your porting the cone of one sub and not the rest... maybe im blind.. help me out?
im really a noob at CAD this is actually my first trial. I know it is not very good but I am working on it. I got some new ideas im gonna try then ill post and see what ya think.
-
should I use a slot port or standard "square vent"??
-
tightbond II, one big port, 45 whatever you want, make the inside smooth, and route the port edges.....and have fun...dont get angry if you dont like the first box...just build another
x2 man its all trial and error i am building my first ported wall now and i am scared shitless but who knows it might just work out for ya. good luck man,
-
Go port on drivers side for spl
and make it roughly 10 square inches per cube
Then you should be golden for 4 15s
Oh and if its for spl tune high
so you are saying to move the port from the center to the drivers side of the box???? this is a wall going in a 89 chevy fullsize ext cab. any ideas on baffeling the box? What would you consider a high tune to be?

umm hit the printscreen button... go to paint, and save it then upload it to photobucket... easiest and fastest
guys i got it down now i appreciate the help

Hopefully if all goes well i will have a box similar to this housing 4 lvl4 xl 15's let me know what you think. this is just a start.

I've never used sketchup, but I think you save the image on your hard drive, then put it on PhotoBucket, then use the insert image buttion. I'm not sure if you can transfer directly from sketchup to PB.
so far i cant fiqure out how to get it on to PB
any other ideas????
-
how do i transfer a image I have from google sketchup to the forums???

Had to bring this up again... would I Need a 4-channel amp?
no need for a four channel amp on the subs. you can either run a second battery or get a battcap.
-
ok so where is this build page hiding at??????????????
-
i guess nobody wants to help lol. ill just try a recone.
I think your are on the right track with the sub going bad. check the resistance of the coils and make sure they are not too far out of wack.

You could run a 5 gallon without a problem . Granted you wont have alot of "air at spare" but it will be just fine for what you wanna do . If you run like a re7 it will take liek a minimum of 60psi to get the front up ( going off a s10 w/ 4.3 etc) I would run a viair 450 or 460 something with 100% duty cycle. I know a ton of ppl who only run 5 gallons an its plenty of air , with SOME play time but of course a 12 gallon would be more play time . If you want alot of play time run your 5 gallon as a expansion chamber an run nitrogen .
Ed
I dont exactly agree with that, I am running a 8 gal and an air zenith @ 200psi and if I play for anymore that like 20 sec I cant get my front back up to move, But i do agree with the 5 gal expansion and nitrogen aspect of yours.
