  1. if you get a battery with the bolt type posts, this is super easy

run 0g from front + to back battery, use a ring terminal to the bolt, from the same bolt, run wires to your amps, with whatever gauge wire and ring terminal they require.

run a 0g ground from the negative terminal to the chassis, and then using the same guages and ring terminals, run ground lines to the amps.

basically front batt to reaar, and rear to amps, so u have 3 terminals stacked on the bolt, and then chassis to neg, and then to neg of amps, so there is again, 3 stacked on the one bolt.

  2. ive heard good things about those amps

i hope you have 6-8 large batteries (kinetic 2400/ powermaster 3100), triple or so runs of 0 guage, and something like dual 300a alts to keep those monsters going, they suck current like you cant comprehend. really hope it's not your first system.

  3. just my .02 but if the 4 batteries are in the back near the amps they should give you the current you need, but a second alt would be an excelent idea, since once those abtteries are drained down, you're going to be stuck with only 300a of current to recharge the batts and supply your system, car, lights, etc. If you plan on driving down the highway on blast, or letting it play close to max for extended periods, definately consider another alt

other than that, you should be fine

  4. its all just pipe dreams right now unfortunately, between fixing the car and putting security down on a house next year, i'm next to broke, and winter is going to be time to re-do the subs, so if anything it'll be during summer....if i dont move out to my own apartment, cuz the only way i can afford a house at school AND an apartment back home is to not blow cash on my car and dumb crap

plus i have to go furniture shopping ftmfl...growing up sucks...

  5. well you got me convinced, and it seems like they are a similar price

any experience with the 4xl's? im really looking to either throw an 8 and 6 in pods and a 4 int he stock location, or run 2 6.5's, a 4 in the door, a tweeter, and 2 10inch midbasses in a center console. If those 8's are worth getting and are better than kicker ssmb8's, i'd be sold, i have this thing about everything matching, i think itlooks mad ghetto when stuff is obviously mismatched (3 gto amps, 2 power subs, 2 power components, 1 power coax....get the idea, i didnt wanna run ss kickers, i really dislike the sound of them, i find it really harsh.

  6. he had a sock in the car somewhere, its jsut so it doesnt get too scraped up by the metal, and its hard to see, but that pic of me smiling in the engine bay, my other hand is woven through and under all the hoses and junk in there, going from the battery area to the charge post of the alt, it was the most awkward position, and i dropped that damn nut twice.

voltage chills at just under 14.4 with the motor running, battery was 12v on the dot outta the box, was prob sitting awhile.

If anyone is wondering how to solder those cup type terminals, vice em, cut the wire sheath back far enough that the wire hits the end, twist the terminal cup onto the wire so it takes the shape, remove the wire, break solder into short enough pieces to fill it end to end, pack it full or solder bits, melt it down to a nice pool in the bottom of the cup, shove the wire in utilizing the twist you put on it with the test fit, and then invert it and let it cool. Those things are never coming off. theres prob 8-10 inches of solder melted into each one.

and that battery strap is probably the most secure thing int he car, im pretty sure if this car gets hit that battery is gonna be straight chillen right there, its bolted down with big ass frame bolts that were originally used to hold down the battery tray and stock battery, its never moving.

  7. i <3 jbl

just so u realize, these are more of an sq speaker than a volume speaker, they are very very clean.

they will get loud with some power, but they're more so meant as an sq setup.

the px and bpx lines of amps have been discontinued, but looks for an amp that can easily do 150rms the 300.4 is a beast amp and should be fine for them, i'm not sure what your price range is or how many you're running, but the alpine pdx's are pretty sick, or you can go the route everyone else does and look at sundown 100.4. just remember that you do get what you pay for to some extent, so dont be afraid to drop a few extra dollars for the peace of mind that it's going to last and work the way it should.
