i had it happen to me too, but im white.
cops got a call that "a young looking person in a dark sedan bought beer". at the time i had a green camry. they pulled me over, searched the car, told me that, and let me go. all i could think was, half the cars on the road are goddamn dark sedans! what right do they have?
but i was 17 and had no balls, lol.

LMFAO at the ice cream truck. I haven't laughed that hard in a while!
truthfully, the icecream man is louder than the majority of people on this website. If i roll my windows up and blast my music, i dont think I can hear it for 30 feet. If i crank the bass and play something with too much bass, i can hear it for maybe 400 feet. Ask any kid and they'll tell you the icecream man can be heard for 4-5 blocks (aka 2000 feet+)

(btw, the new grand cherokee, is the loudest thing i've heard in a while stock. atleast from outside it BLOWS my car away. If my windows are up i cant hardly hear anything, but that truck, you can hear it all, from like 100 ft away. maybe they should fight for sound deadening being required. and ban exhausts, harleys, and the goddamn icecream man. i can hear that dick playing his shitty music from like 4 blocks away)

i mean, i guess if that religion brings you happiness, no one can down it. Personally the more i learned the more i learned that religion was a context for those in power to abuse it (abuse trust by molesting parishioners, abuse people not reading the bible to misinterpret it and get money, etc.)

unless she has a hatchback, you're not going to hear it....atleast in my experience, anything less than a 12 with 300 watts is almost imperceptable, even against a stock radio and speakers, if its in the trunk. i know my decent 8 ( a vega!84) in a tline in the backseat was damn near nothing compared to the 600watts of highs in my front doors...IMO just give her something a little more than she needs and tune it down a bit, rather than give her soemthing small that ends up being too small.

.5 cubes should be fine for a normal 8, but dont expect the one you have to take any sort of real power, especially in a different box

i know its a name brand, but holy poop, this is EXACTLY why they invented it, limited volume, limited mounting depth, but you still want the output. i know the freq response isnt the best, but its going to have more output than an 8, and sound better than an 10 or 12 squeezed into a tiny box.

designing a tline is easy, find the 1/4 wave tutorial. all you have to do is make one big port that has the same sq inches as your sub, and a length long enough to contain 1/4 of a full wave of your driver's Fs.

lol. you were pretty spot on though, its just that the port had to be a bit longer, so the box had to be a little bigger to compensate. the design you have would worked fine honestly, it just wouldnt drop into the 30's that well. and everyone knows the 30's are where the fun is (not to mention sq abilities)

its just my calcs, but it looks like you have just over 3cubes in there after displacement/braces. with that port you're tuned nearer 40hz. its not bad, but thats a pretty high tuning, and if you like lows its probably not going to be too great for you.
something more like 14.5x26x25 with a 13x3.5 port 30 inches long will give you ~32hz tuning and ~3cubes and just about 14sqin of port per cube, which is a pretty good place to be.

build your own box to save money and get the best results
sundown makes a nice amp around your power needs, the saz-1000. you can run it on 4g wire (look at knukonceptz or stinger for reasonably priced and damn good quality wires and connects, they even offer all in 1 kits)
add in a h/u and some knowledge and youre set.

nah, my times were full of zipzaps. basically a 2 inch long rc car for those that havent seen them.
mine was modded with a beeper motor, IFS with springs from a ballpoint pen, custom made tires from a squishy pen grip (that made it od better), graphite dust as a lubricant, and an extra battery in series so it ran at double voltage (and a modded controller to charge it ofcourse)
it legit did 15-20 mph, it was way faster than any of us could run after it.

its *.707 silly, not /.707, so output is like 600 watts on a good day....(efficiency is a drop in output, not a gain... 864*70% efficiency =605ish)

i loved my kicker square 8's, imo they would be a good choice.
i also like the mtx and pioneer slims. you could fit a 12 in the same spot and they could take 300-400 watts. in all honesty a good slim 12 with 300 watts would be more than comprable to an l7 8" with 450
