I bet you TC sounds is pissed off. They dont like there baskets to be used for any thing other then there equipment. I wounder if there PMing him thru ebay threating him with lawyers lol
You could buy the frames used, or tc could have dont the recone themselves. also- up untill recently, they wuold sell the parts..

Honestly- that graph is nowhere near useful.. that is merely a free air representation of what the comp THINKS the sub will do. you get that in a car its a whole new world.

The chip will not affect anything. i would go for it.. although with ups packaging it, you may have a chance at a refund...

tc sounds subs are great, but their service sucks. anyways, how can you have all those subs and not sell any?? you lie!! sell me some subs!!!! my homeboy has recently gotten a btl 15" and it hits dramatically hard!! but i noticed that the sound quality isn't what i expected. i'm not trying to knock them at all, it's just what i noticed. is it just me?? are they spl subs rather than sq??
Yeah- BTL's are spl subs.. they sound "alright".. i do like em.. for a daily beater theiy are awesome!

ive read good reviews for the tc sounds subs but again expensive but if you can have em...bang em
but i have read about a test on realm of excursion that tested various amounts of 12 inch woofers which included the tc sounds sub and Fi BTL. Both were tested for burps and power rating and the BTL won but nonethe less i would get the tc if they didnt cost as much but im going with two Fi BTL 18s
um.. im not trying to argue.. but the tc5200 was NOT in the 12" test session..BTL's are nice for sure, too!

and sorry- i dont have any 6 spokes.. http://www.lorentz-audio.com/speakerbaskets.html has some 8 spoke 18"s if those will work for you? ( i buy from parts houses)

Please dont take my "fi based forum" comment wrong! FI is GREAT stuff.. im just a huge tc fanboy and wanted to see others opinions on em...
some of my tc's.. (3 18" 5200's, 2 with custom colered baskets)
(yes, these are for 2 diff. instals.. i dont intend to have 2 diff cones, lol)

great subs, they suffer the fate of most RE stuff though, people assume they are to expensive to run.

may i add my suggestions? 1. dont do the visor, or cowl hood, they look tacky. 2. add a roll pan. 3. get rid of the black trim along the sides, and the emblems. 4. throw some 22-24's on it, and lower it. these are just my suggestions, not meant to offend anyone! good luck with it!

Oh okay, my bad. The surround was the biggest flaw in the eclipse titaniums, but I would hope not in these subs. I think you should be good though it was mostly with the 10's and 12's that had problems. Like I said keep us updated.

It looks like a nice toy, me personally I am not a big fan of aluminum coned subs. I seen nothing but blown up eclipse aluminum(designed by tc sounds) subs come back to my boys shop, and not to mention all the eclipse titanium's (designed by tc sounds) that came back with broke surrounds all the way around, and not even being abused. I also seen when clarion was making aluminum cone (pretty sure tc sounds had something to do with this woofer) subs that when it got cold and something accidently hit it it split in half. So I have seen and heard a bunch of things go wrong with aluminum cone woofers.
Don't think I am downing this woofer, I have heard good things about tc sounds woofers that they make for themselves. I just wish you luck and hope you aren't one more to add to my horror story.
All in all looks good tho, keep us posted with the install, to!
