  1. do you think it would be smart to let a shop here in town do the work? because i was just planning on buying the stuff and letting them do the work.

do it yourself....plenty of help here if you run into any problems at all.

but as far as the 2 15's or 1 18....i dont think you really need them. start off "small". if your stuck on subs such as the ones you listed maybe start with 2 12's(btls, mayhems, xcons....etc) and run at least rms.

im sure you would be satisfied with them.

  2. It's safe to say that the majority of songs downloaded out there are clipped by the release group. If you get them for free, the least they would expect you to do is remove the clipping. Personally, I think they're clipped with the sole intention of blowing the speakers of those who are illegally downloading them. What does this mean? More money for car audio companies. If the public was actually educated about what bass boosting and clipping does, then I'm sure we wouldn't be seeing so many messed up tracks out there.

NOTE: That, and so many cars have sub-par stock systems that new hip hop is trying to squeeze every bit out of the speakers by distorting it (well, it sounds better as long as its not turned up too loud).

  3. well the website says

    Acceptable:

2.0 cu ft - infinity net volume sealed

    3.0 - 5.0 cu ft net volume vented, Fb = 16 - 24 Hz

    Optimal Home:

4.5 cu ft net volume sealed

5.0 cu ft net volume vented, Fb = 16 Hz

    Infinite Baffle

    Optimal Car:

2.5 cu ft net volume sealed

3.0 cu ft net volume vented, Fb = 24 Hz

do either 5cuft sealed, since they perform well sealed... or 6ish at 28... if it were me... 24 is retarded low for a car

its pretty much designed to be the monster of low end mosters fyi

28 wouldnt be to low for daily bumpin you dont think?

  4. a buddy of mine just ordered 2 rl-s 12's a few days ago and asked me what he should have the builder tune the box to....i really have no clue where these subs perform best at.

what would you guys recommend him having the box tuned to? he just wants to sound clean on lows....not really looking for being loud as hell.

    any info appreciated thanks
