[2-4 18s and what amp]

I along with a lot of other people on this forum love AQ. The AQ3500 would be a solid choice and you can get one for around $400 shipped. They are extremely solid amps that can be wired to real low impedances(if you know what you're doing) and are usually a good bit cheaper than RF. If you're running 4 18's I'd just run 2 strapped AQ3500's. As others have said, you will definitely need a stout electrical to support this kind of equipment.

Thank you for your suggestions, right now i have a Power Acoustic 5500 gothic series. I have had it since 2006 and like it very much. It has blown 3 of my kicker cvr18s and 2 fi bls twice running one at a time at 2500 rms. Is this a powerful amp, or someone said my amp was garbage and said it blowss them because it sends dirty power to the subs? any ideas?

In the next couple of months I plan to purchase a tahoe/yukon/escalade and want to run 2 to 4 fully load Fi BTLs. What would be some good amp suggestions. I was wanting to get the RF t4000.1 but I cant find any new. Please give me some suggestions. thanks

Well i officially have been beating the living hell out of my FI BTL's for over a year now.....since i got the big show this weekend i decided it was time for my subs to get a re-do. They are (were) all loose and really worked in which i guess isnt always a bad thing but NOTHING like a new sub. These new ones have 5 spiders and the cones are a little different (lighter, stronger). Anyway enough talk......while those guys were Vortexing chickens hoopty box i was in the garage stripping my old subs down to the metal

the most ironic part is now i need to go "break them in" before this weekend

you think those recone kits would fit in the basket and magent of my blown cvr 18's????just a thought??

reconeing the speaker, you take all the guts out, and pop in a brand new recone kit wich is cone, spiders, voice coil, just glue, center/shim it up, dry, then dome

since its 18s im guessing thier solo X i cant watdch vids, but 1600 watts each for 2 solo's is pretty weak imo

I dont think fiber fill will be to much help for you lol take and put 2x4s in your box until you like the sound. You can take it a step further and calculate the displacement and build a smaller box.

i think its the cabin pressure and the air cannot escape..

whats the efects of having a sealed box too big? right now i got 2 kicker 18vrs in a sealed box of 9.4ft^3 in a trunk and when the trunk is closed its crazy loud inside the car and shakes everything... but when the trunk is open its lame... is the box to big???

i set it the way you said and it slams...

but i blew the fuse on the power cable so i have the gain less then half and the bass remote less then half and it still hits reay hard... but what amp fuse should i get now to not have to worry about it.
