  1. i undertand that.. but for my lights to dim more with this new alt. sucks and shouldnt be doing that... i understand that the put out less at idle.. but when they still dim at 2500 rpm when they didnt before isnt good.
  2. well what would you guys recommend me doing? stick with what i have or put my old alternator back and save up and buy another a 2nd battery?
  3. " eaglescorpio1:: My headlights and dash dim at any rpm level. I have a 225 amp alt from EA, the big 3, and an hc2400 in the spare tire well, and my lights dim when the bass hits no matter what my rpm's are at. I have the mla module and never drop below 13.8 volts at full tilt with rpms at 2000. They still dim." But see my light dim when i roll the windows up with no bass hitting.. the music is all the way down. they do also dim when i turn it up all the way, but i can live with that.
  4. thats what i thought too... but i have reved my engine to 2500 rpms and when i roll my windows up and hold the buttons they still dim.. even my cabinet lights dim.
  5. i just checked the voltages. and at idle it was 14.1 and at 2500 rpm and any other rpm its was 14.1 the same thing.
  6. i have doubled checked all the connectons. those arent the problem. no fuses are blown. I am going to buy a DMM today to check the voltage today.
  7. SO heres the deal. I bought a new custom made 200amp Alternator for my car. I also big the big 3 with a new deep cycle battery put in. The probelm is that my lights are still dimming, not only when the bass hit but when i do anything that uses power. When i try to roll up my windows my lights dim, the headlights and the overhead light in the car. I dont know why its doing this but what could be the problem that my lights are dimming this much? because it is very noticable when they do dim.
  8. If i just turn down the gain on the amp, the reduces the watts produced doesnt it. that way i wont blow my current sub. Will that work?
  9. im running 3 12" sony xplod but im hoping to upgrade in the future.. which is why i want a bigger amp so i have that option
  10. what about the Crunch GP2500D http://www.onlinecarstereo.com/CarAudio/Pr...ProductID=18350 it is more power than i need but if ya saying they dont produce the power they say shouldnt this correct that?
  11. the hifonics amp is like my limit of my budget. has any one else had any experience with crunch amps?
  12. Im looking to upgrade my amp and im looking between these two, Crunch GP1500D http://www.onlinecarstereo.com/CarAudio/Pr...ProductID=18349 OR Hifonics Txi 1508D http://www.onlinecarstereo.com/CarAudio/Pr...ProductID=18418 I need an amp that does 1500 at 1 ohm, dont have alot of money to spend which is why im leaning towards the Crunch. but if you have any other suggestions, I open to them
  13. O I was already planning on doing that.... im looking at like a 1500 Rms one. But thanks for the response.
  14. Whats size wire would I need from the Amp to the subs?
  15. The subs are 380 rms a piece. should i get a 1000 rms amp like you he said or should i go higher to give the subs all they can handle..
  16. I have 3 sony xplods SVC. I dont know what amp because im seeing if i need to upgrade. I have a sony amp bridged pushing like 500watts. and another boos amp with the same set up. i only have 2 subs going now put in putting in another one and need to know what to do about the amp situation. The Subs are 4 ohms. i think i answered all the question..
  17. I was wondering whats the best way to wire 3 12"s subs. What ohms and which way. Would it be better to wire them to one huge amp or do 3 small amps. Or do what im thinking and run an amp at 2ohms for 2 subs and run the third off a small amp. I dont know which is the best, what would be the best way?
  18. i think the ones from radioshack are like midlands.. but they can be only bought online ( the cheap one at least) But for 25 u get the cb radio and another 25 for a PA speaker from radioshack.
  19. i got my PA system from radioshack.. but its also a cb radio.. Dont know if you want that or not. It was cheap though
  20. I just thought of something else. Should I make the box a dual or single chamber box?
  21. hmmm good point.. ill just have to be happy with the box tuned in the 40's Thanks for your help
  22. well technically its not for me im building it for my friend and im on a time budget and dont feel like messing around with ported. I dont think my friend will even notice that it isnt ported.
  23. Im building a box for 2 15" alpine type R subs. The box is going to be sealed and the product spec say to give it 1.625 net volume per sub. But it also say that it will tune around 44 hz. If i want it lower than that should i make the box a little bigger? I was thinking of making the box 16.5" H x 34" L x 13" D. O also do i need to put any bracing inside this box??
