couldnt find a spot through the firewall.

It's ok just make sure it doesn't cut through the plastic/rubber shield on the wire.
But it would be better if you made (drilled) a hole in the firewall. If you do drill a hole make sure you put a grommet in the hole.

umm i suggest going all 1/0 ga it is a much better wire and it will produce a cleaner signal, plus do not skimp on the quality personally i would get rockford 0ga
