  1. Here are some pics of what i'm working with.

    2 AudioQue HDC312'S

    2 AudioQue 2200d's

    2 Powermaster D3100's

I am trying to figure out how I can raise up the back or get stiffer springs or air shocks or something so it's even with the front. I was thinking about just getting lowering springs for the front but didn't know if that would create problems down the road with balance or somethin.

What have you all done to fix this problem? I went to Les Schwab this morning and they said they can't do anything to it, including putting air bags.

BTW - I hit 148.0 with the cd player skipping (just bought a rca > ipod adapter) at the local car audio shop, got it on video on my phone but its only of the meter sitting on top of the hood - Not bad for a trunk car and two 12's!

What causes the rear end to be lowered...

    AMPS N BATTS

I ordered new wiring and should be here tomorrow and redoing the trunk layout so it won't look so messy

    Thanx!

  2. Thanks, I know what displacement is I was referring to the output of the subwoofer having something to do with the displacement. For example, the heavier the magnet is the more output it would potentially have?

Like the DC Sound Lab lvl4 12" I heard has a displacement of .16, and the AQHDC312 is .4. Is this saying that the AQ will most likely have the potential of having the output?

  3. Thanks :)

I'm comparing the specs for both of them right now and am leaning towards the DC level 4. Just the magnet is 7 more pounds than the AQ magnet. The sensitivity in the AQ is about a db higher, but since it'll be powered enough i'm not too worried about it.

    All input is welcome!

BTW - The box is 5.4 gross with the port in the center - each sub does not have it's own chamber. What's the displacement on the DC level 4 12"?

which sub will get the most output - the AQHDC312 or DC Sound Lab lvl4d2? Each sub will be powered by a AQ2200d and two yellowtop 1200d batts.

    INPUT WELCOME!! =]

  5. imo i would try and just screw some hinges to the seat and to the body of the car. it might not fold down all the way. however to hold the seat up i would use something off of a cabnet for like a kitchen or something with that plastic thing that attaches to the other peice. kinda like male and female peice. just a few ideas. im pretty good at fabbign up custom one off sheet!. good luck with making that work.

Hey thanks for the idea. i'll try that one sounds good

  6. yea the seats don't fold down in a 01 gp. i've asked some people around town and they just tell me what I already know which is to put hinges on the bottom. This doesn't help me with how to make the top of the seat stay stable.

In the seats that fold down, what type of process is going on to make them stay? I could get an idea on how to make the seat stay latched at the top if someone could please upload a pic for me of how they look lol. seriously tho haha

  7. I have a 2001 Grand Prix GT and want to change the back seats so that they fold down instead of being set. I know that in the Grand Am's they fold down, but don't know anyone that owns one so I can check it out.

I was thinking about using a few hinges next to each seat belt and create some type of clamp or something at the top.

So any ideas on how I can change this to make them fold down?

    Thanks! :o)

  8. oh really? thanks for the info. Since I am planning to keep this setup for a while, it would be safest to just upgrade my alt (when my setup changes, it will just be more power, not less)?

Now, a couple more questions :)

How do I know what the amperage is while idling when I research different alts to buy?

Other than powermaster, what other brands/models are recommended? I have a 2001 grand prix gt 3.8L.

-Preferably something that gives me a high ouput at idle
