  1. Yeah... piddly. Just waiting on the 6.2... to bad it wont fit in tthe mail box.
  2. Well getting a fully rebuilt engine thats about 98% complete with 40,000 miles for free really helps the budget.
  3. http://www.obbnmotorworks.com/qlogic/html/...motorworks.html that link is dead
  4. Well, the thread about the car horn going off made me remember an idea I had. At work, we have a belt loader, made by the cochrane western group iirc. its circa 1967. It has a trumpet kinda thing on the horn, has a reaal cool sound. I noticed while messing with my buddys Jeep TJ, theres a high and low tone. What would happen if you were to take a tweeter horn or aero port, and attached it to a car horn? I'm wondering if I can alter the sound at all...
  5. I have a 2.2L 4cyl in my truck, thinking of putting in a 6.2L diesel, but I might not. Just wondering about larger alts on 4cyls, is the drag noticable, do they do any damage to the engine over time? I know theres a few of you guys with CRXs and stuff....
  6. Wow... never thought box rise was as.. big as it is. I don't have the gear to measure the rise though. Hell I don't even have my subs yet (there two weeks late). Aeroports are a more "efficent" port?
  7. Can somebody explain to me box rise? I'm trying to find an amp for my two Mach 5 SPL-12s, which are dual twos. How would box rise affect me? Would I be able to buy an amp that does say 3200W @ 1 ohm, and wire to 1/2ohm, and box rise would put it close to 1 ohm?
  8. I doubt theres free shipping to Canada. I could do two of those RFs in a basic ported box, could I not? I'm not sure what I'd tune the port to... He listens to rap, hip hop and classic rock.
  9. I don't think he'd want to spend that much. I checked on Sonic Electronix, Two of the JL Audio 10W1v2-4, like we looked at today, were $223 IIRC. then a Kicker 08ZX300.1 to power it, Estimated order total $436.76 Thats shipped to Canada. Jeep is already wired. So thats all we'd need plus some MDF.
  10. Well the local audio shop has a wall, with JL speakers, and JL subs. My buddy is interested in the lower end gray cone JL 10s, and W3 8's.... He wants to do a box that will fit behind the rear seat of his Jeep TJ, as he has two 12" Pioneers in where the seat used to be, and he wants his seat back. However the guy said it'd be 4-$500 for them to custom build a box that would fit in the cargo area of the jeep. Plus the JL 10s are $179 dollars each... I told my buddy that we could design or have a box designed, that will fit in his jeep... for a hell of alot cheaper. I can't believe how much the box costs, when you look at something like Thumpper makes (which is a work of art!), and what Thumpper charges compared to the local shop. And all they carry is Kicker, JL, Kenwood as far as I know... I was kinda thinking of having them do a blowthrough on my truck, but I'd hate to know how much it costs.
  11. Nah I think I'm just not going to run anything in the dash... or maybe some coaxials... I have no ps or pl ... 6.5s in the doors is waht i was wanting.
  12. I just checked the price of the q-logic kick panels, they were more than I expected.. hmm. I'm not sure what I'm going to be doing in regards to speakers and such so I don't know yet..
  13. I'm liking that... but I'd definitely need some kinda cover for the speakers, I'm worried I'd kick the cone in on the kickpanel speakers...
  14. Whats involved in making a 2-way component setup? I was told I could find everything on parts express, but I don't understand the crossovers mostly.
  15. See I was only told it needs a good battery... ...
  16. http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_9467_P...+OV1-5500D.html Kinda thinking of buying this if I can't get a GP-3000D Pro.. But I'd have to run it at half ohm.
