  1. yup , i recently put a used engine i bought of craigs list and had it installed in the toy ( in my sig ) , well it had a significant oil leak and some other undisclosed problems that i later found out the hard way , it lasted for about a month and a half (maybe less) and was runnin good , was draggin the shit out of it , thought you guys knew !!!! , went fishing all day and when i went to leave it was making ALOT of engine noise , kinda like my last engine before  so bottom line is im gonna do it right this time and get a rebuilt engine and have them install it , YES , with a mother fu-kin warranty ..... hopefully within the next month or sooner , btw , before the engine blew i was getting ready to make some draggin video clips , as soon as i get the new engine in , i'll make some ............. :8)

Try S&S engine. We've bought a bunch of engines from them and they've been great, they've even shipped to Canada from Spokane..

We've bought 200ci Ford I6s from them, haven't had any issues, there great to talk to.

  2. if you can find a premade one, theres no reason it wouldnt work, just check the crossover frequency and slope since that's the only thing you can really vary anyway. if you manage to find blown component sets of speakers, or if a friend of yours blows his, take the crossovers, 99% of the time a speaker goes, crossovers are very durable fr the most part

I was going to use something from here

but I read they won't last.

I would hope you guys would be able to help me choose which one would be right for my application.. I'll look at some speakers and tweeters on PE too..

  3. capacitor, and inductors, resistors for atenuating to compensate for excessive trebble, or bass- Zobel filters Ibelieve they are called

    but v\basically, 6db 1 cap, 1 inductor

12db 2 caps, 2 inductors, and so forth in increments of 6db slopes

ofcourse there is alot more to it that just that

Lol. well I don't want to build it from scratch. I'd like to use some ready made x-overs if possible. Hmm.

I'd like to be able to pick my mids and tweets.

I don't really wanna do active.

  4. the most basic crossover setup splits a signal to a mid and a high. the the high has a bass blocker wired in so the lower tones dont reach the tweeter and blow it. basically, it filters the signal into 2 different ones....so in a two way setup, theres a small woofer (or mid speaker), a tweeter, and the crossover...this is the most basic setup of a component system.

I was planning on using those Parts Express x-overs... but.. I dunno.

  5. how do you do that? do i need to up the voltage in other spots or something? My Quad core 6700 2.66 only likes to go just about 3.4 before it becomes unstable, and that is ON WATER. Maybe my o/clocking skillz are teh weak :D

I haven't done much in the way of overclocking, and I cannot mess around with my Q6600, as I have a HP board.

Yeah you can give it more voltage, small increments and watch you temps, but if you give it too much voltage, it will be easy to fry it.

At least you can afford water cooling. At the time when I used my computer for gaming mainly I couldn't afford water cooling or a new motherboard so I can overclock. Now I can afford water, but its too much maintanace IMO for a daily used pc, I rarely game on my pc.. so car audio>computer right now.

You should be able to do better than 3.4, especially on water. Is it a 6700 Extreme (I can't remember if they came in the Extreme edition, its been a while)

  6. Yeah, i was going to be building that rig for games like that. But decided to go with this current set up instead. Theres nothing wrong with my e8600 for now. I would like to upgrade tho. If u would like me to take pictures right next to the computer i can do that for you. Didnt mean to get u all excited there pal.

I have a Intel Quad Core Q6600. 2.40GHz stock.. but can be overclocked to 3.2-3.6 on a good air cooler and 4~ on water.

I need a motherboard so I can overclock. HP boards suck.

Nice setup, I like nvidia myself.

  7. I think on one of the forums they tried to go on Mythbusters website and posted videos of cars flexing and windows breaking, but discovery closed the thread down. I don't think you can argue with them.

I agree with the other views about the MB test.

Forevrbumpin and 01xtreme you made me piss myself laughing, is that the yellow note?

  8. hit up mechman and see can you get a nice 250 amp alt (give you some good idle power). get you a few kinetik or powermaster batteries which i'm sure their AH is higher than the Orbital batteries ........... get you a MLA module and couple runs of that 1/0 and you shouldn't have to worry about any voltage drop.

Hmm. Kinetik and Powermaster are kinda hard for me to get. There are no local dealers of Kinetik and Powermaster, you guys in the states have it made, everything at your fingertips..

  9. Great amps. I loved the pair I used to have. They do not like low voltage at all tho. Make sure your electrical is up to par. They aint known as Catchfire's for nuthin.

Thats what I'm worried about. I'm thinking of getting four Exide Oribatal 50ah batteries... and a 200~ amp alt, would that be enough?

Its either this, two BXi-2008Ds or a Audiopipe AP30001D
