I just remembered this when I saw pix of a early 00s Silverado.
My dad bought a 2000 Silverado Z71 W/5.3 from a company who used it to go from city to city, highway. It had 220,000 on it when we traded it in 04 IIRC.
When we bought it, the tires were worn sooo bad you could see the belting in them.
However, when you'd take off from a stoplight, the truck would clunk.
We could not figure out what it was, we was firguring the trans was crapping out.. We mentioned this to the sellers.
I think we were on vacation when dad was loading stuff into the back of it, and he saw a golf ball in the side pockets of the bed. He took it out and it never clunked no more.
Golf balls save money.. haha

With some modification anything is possible, I don't think addapters would work because the hole is 4 tall by six inches wide so 6.5's wouldn't just "drop in" I'm pretty sure it would require some cutting
Plus it has this huuuge cover over the speakers..

I have a 94 GMC Sonoma reg cab. It says on crutchfield that the front speakers are 4x6s. Is it possible to put in 6.5s in the dash with adapters?

Main problem ...with RD..was the excessive product pushing we had on ROE......PAP was not as bad ..but still same issue...no comment on Ed//
Oh... so they over promoted there stuff or something?
Still trying to find that gasket btw. But I gotta get the camper shell on first... I'mmma lazy
-
I've been reading bad things about Pierce Audio Products, RD, and some good some bad about eD.
I've asked about PAP on ROE, but whats the deal with RD and eD?

The higher the number, the thicker the oil. 10W30 is thicker that 5W30. Can't remember what the Wxx means...
We use 0W30 in the winter.
I use 10W30 in my go kart because it runs full tilt alot. at work we used 10W30 in a old Honda van with alot of miles.

Yea I heard that like 8 years back or so, but I guess that is to be a thing of the past now.
I got the same one here has a little metal rod that spins in circles to keep the corn rotating while popping.
Then just use these kernals and this buttery oil and its just like movie theater popcorn.
http://www.orville.com/products_kernalpop.jsp#products
But you need to use this kinda salt. http://www.mortonsalt.com/products/foodsal...opcorn_salt.htm
Theres something different with it compaired to regular salt.
I find myself going to the movies, just for the popcorn at time! lol
I've been at the moive theatre here, and everybody in the theatre threw there popcorn on the ground it was so sickening...
I'd tell ya what I put on my popcorn but its my buddies family secret.. :01nocomment8so:

I may need your welding skillz Or some advice on how to fix it. I have 5 layers up there so taking that down wont be fun at all. I’m looking to buy a newer X. 02 or newer range.
Weld some thick plate on the roof maybe?
-
Pour over butter from Orval Redenbocker probably spelt that wrong but Im kinda lucky when i want pop corn I run up to the movie theater about 1 mile away from my house and buy a jumbo bucket or just make my own with the popcorn machine we got
http://www.toastess.com/product_details.asp?product=30 This makes really good popcorn IMO. I just pour in some corn oil, some kernels, you can put butter into the top and season it and stuff, pops up real nice.
I also like cooking it up on the stove, just corn oil in a big pot and some kernels and seasoning.
I can't remember what mircrowave popcorn I liked, but it was sweet corn. Tastes good too.
But.... I dont like mircrowave pop corn too much.

Stay away from those Audio Pipe amps. They are complete crap. There is a guy that was on Team Roadquake with 3 of the 3000's on 6 15's and he was only making something like 4000 watts out of three of those amps. They will NOT do the power that they claim they will. I am going to be selling my Crunch GP3000D and if you're interested let me know. You won't be able to get one of these new ever again. Maxxsonics is discontinuing them and replacing them with a new amp next year. Mine is in almost mint condition except for a minor scuff to the heatsink. Pm me if you're interested in getting something done. I can tell you that you won't be able to touch one of these amps for under $550 anywhere on the net right now unless it's used. This amp will run at .5 ohms all day long with the proper extra battery upgrade and would even help to add a ho alt with it, but can be run at .5 and has without a ho alt.
I think I might do an extra battery in the rear, (PM 2400, I think).
Hmmm... I'll send you a pm..
-
Soundstream xxx6500 will struggle to make 3000w at anything if you don't give it 16v batteries to feed on.
Screw that.
I'm strongly considering the AP3000.1.... the KX2500.1 I've found is $550....+ shipping I think..
-
i believe on the old post roscoe said to do that, not sure tho..he said thats the most accurate place to put it (may be wrong on person who said it) i know that advice was given tho
I would like to know for sure aswell... I'll be getting one when I get my system together.
-
i would go with 2 200 amp. they put out 160 at idle so that makes 320 amp . mla ftmfw
Shit man I only got a lil 4 cylinder... haha.Plus you tryin to bankrupt me?
-
So far the list is.
Massive Audio P3000.1, BNIB, $618 shipped
Autotek MX5000 .. used I guess... $about 550 -see below...
SoundStream XXX6500D .... $800 shipped.
Stetsom 2K6D... $620 shipped...
Audiopipe AP30001D '08... $485 shipped -see below
Atomic 3000.1, $500... waiting to see if that is shipped or not.
Orion 2500D, $400 shipped
the atomic and orion will do 3000~W @ 0.5 ohm,not really what I wanted.
hmmm
BNIB w/ warranty Audiopipe AP3000.1... $475. shipped
Autotek MX5000.. $385 + shipping..
which would you guys go for?
I dunno. I'm trying to get an alt aswell... If I get one of the more expensive amps that I posted, I won't be able to get an alt or batteries right away... but i'm not in a rush to get it done as my sonoma still needs work too..
-
hahaha wait til you see mine next year
iraggi 300 amp
fit 10
finish ? i see lotsacopper so idk?
reliability 8
output 8
i suggest an external regulator for anything 200 amp and up cause there known to go out.
but thats life..NOTHING LASTS FOREVER!
My truck has a a/c bracket but no a/c was equipped. I can get a 140amp kit for my stock alternator, if I used a separate oem modded alt, in place of where the a/c would have went, and have it dedicated to the stereo, would that be okay, or should I do a 200+amp for the whole truck, and replace the single alt?
Anybody running a Missing Link w/ a Mechman alt?
-
There a Big case of metal....lol
Cant see the Inside's Nothing...idk I want a Nice shiny Alt that i can see a Gang load of copper inside.... I mean my Alts work 100% just not very apealing to the eye...
But as they Say SPL = UGLY SHIT!
Hmm.... wouldn't you want the case to be more open to cool it better? I honestly don't overly care for shiny things, as long as it puts out power

"No problem, we have a 250 amp unit with built-in adjustable voltage regulator on-sale for $399 shipped. (normally $499) We can set the voltage at 15.2V for you to optimize system performance, and it will do a full 250 amps with over 150 amps at idle! (the best in the industry) We even include an extra-small 46mm overdrive pulley that we custom machine here in house, (49mm is the smallest available anywhere else) this further boosts idle RPM performance. Best of all, our large case unit is custom machined for S10's, making it the only large case unit that bolts in without any bracket modificatons! Let me know and I can have one to you ASAP.
Thanks
Matt
1-888-MECHMAN"
Hmm. Why I've been asking you guys is I'm trying to determine what alternator I should save for.
What did you guys not like about the finish of EA alts?
-
I've heard mixed things about EA and Iraggi..... hmmm
alts aint cheap, but neither are batteries
-
I'm wondering what everybody is running, and how would you rate it, pros/cons, quality, reliablilty..etc
-
what about the 6000 rms and 12000 watts of power?even thought wehn pimp my ride used like one and put like 10000 watts on it and barley got a 136-139 dbs on it!
Yeah.. it seems like its rather inefficent.
I dobut its as loud as they made it seem on pimp my ride.
A Funny Little Story..

It never did clunk after.
Our 97 Ford F350 service truck we have shifts rather rough, but the dealer said some of them were like it, and there was no fix for it.
Plus the truck only has 100,000kms on it, and the trans was leaking, replaced the seal and it still leaks... but not enough to notice on the stick.
