Very true..some amps suck alot of power to put out the watts they said..it's kinda scary...I can't remember but years ago i think they were comparing them on benches on how much volts it took to produce the same watts for different amps

I'm in a 2002 Jeep..standard electrical dims with my amp on them...real bad...like bad voltage drops..so if you power them right you should do Big 3 upgrade, and get an Hc600 or bigger for the back...you should be ok then..if that doesn't work get a 200 amp alt..-

Wait a second..teh 2608D has a slave and master RCA link doesn't it? I have one of these beasts, it's a black one though..I checked ebay and they are all silver looking... I am running my two L7's without the gain maxed and they are rated the same as the lvl 4's in RMS...and mine hit hard in a sealed box..(changing soon) er sorry for all the edits...what I'm saying is in my experience even though I havn't had it benched it puts out most of the power it says..but he's right, I'd guestimate mine around 2400 or so..not the true 2600...but hifonics has always been a bargain...it's really the most bang for your buck if you ask me lol.."

Ok I understand that, and I'm going to do that since it comes so highly recomended. Still, no need to cuss because you're pissed off. The question I asked wasn't, hey should I port these, it was, hey what system will beat harder than these for this amount or money, or higher. Chill out.

no Ramen, it's not that...it's that everyone keeps saying keep the two 15" L7's...like they are the best of the best you know? I got money, and an amp that will fit about any setup with 2600 watts rms... I know that with the l7's in a better box they will beat...what I want to know is there 4 12's that will beat harder...But I'm working with around 500 for subs, and the rest will be used for the power supply.. Thank you for telling me about the L7's I currently have...I appreciate that...and I'll probably build another box, but I want to have an idea of what I will do later on... Ramen, just stop talking I don't think that is neccessary..

no no no, I plan on taking real time...you want pictures? I did a hell of a nice job on my sealed enclosure...maybe a little big but I took time.. sanded for extra stick with the liquid nails...I made sure it was like..hella sealed...I mean, I did everything to a T, but my experience is limited you know, I'm no expert on a box...I am taking my TIME on this...building an extra solid box, inch thick particle with a good port and the rest completely sealed from leaks... as far as the box I have now, it's like I made a perfect rectangle you know..I didn't think about the mechanics..I just know it's as good as any other sealed box with no modifications to it.. I couldn't have 4 12's and port it like meade did...except on a much smaller scale...or would I have to have 4 individual boxes...I have all the time in the world to construct what I need... the reason I want a change is the speakers are getting older and a recone I don't want to do really..I want more experience with more subs...then I can say I've done an install with 4 subs and did it correctly you know what I'm saying...and in the process gain more beat.. Not only that someone wants my box and subs for 300 so then I'll have over or just at 700 to buy more subs and a complete box...or...4 if that is the case...

That's why I said the W0's...since they are older, and you can still get new ones I believe if you search long enough....they are cheaper you know...but I understand, they are stupid loud...my box is almost perfect..it's mainly my power right now...they are BEASTS...my lights dim like crazy can't turn them on full blast...I got a yellowtop and 1/0 wire to the back...nothinng else cept that 130 alternator..that's why I want to do big 3, port the box, and get hte battery..think they would sound crisp and blow for real? the 4 12's just screams clarity and loudness though

lol Just exploring my options here you know...I know a box would do good, I'll do that first and stack my chips for a bigger upgrade for real...but I'm just talking options here too...like 4 12's that are...good quality..that would outthump those 15's with quality...my 15's are sloppy you know...like 2 12" Jl's are way more crisp...although not near as loud on the lows...I want that crispness with the loudness...what about 4 JL 12" W0's I hear those things take no power and f-ing slam...

ok so you're saying it won't be louder?..I know there are technicalities like what electrical I am on etc...But I can give all that information...I want a louder CLEARER sub...and I hear if I port a singl 18 fully loaded with 2500 watts rms and a port at 32hz with big 3 and 2 batteries, yellowtop up front...that I will be louder and clearer...and push more air at that... Maybe I'm beating a dead horse though, I should have known..either go 2 18's or go home...cause my 2 15's obviously beat the cone area of the 18..

Louder than the 18?....I mean, I'm running the same amp no matter what I get..I got that 2608 or what ever that supposedly claims 2600 watts rms..probably lower but that's perfect for 1 18..

I can provide pictures of the install and everything just need some real experience and help. I could do it on my own but I'd like to do ALOT of research and perfect..I want it for a year like I had these.. And question, if I carpet it myself, if I carpet the inside of the port is that allowed???...does that mess up the tune

I am currently running 2 15" Kicker L7's...they are the 2007 versions...obviously squares...unported in a very large enclosure. I've had it a year now for sure and hoping to get 300 for the box and speakers and all to help with my new endeavor... I was wanting general advice. I have a yellow top and 1/0 stinger wire running to the back, and for my new setup, it's going to be 1 18" Fi BTL fully loaded...it will be powered by the same amp I have now...I can't remember the exact name but they don't make them anymore..Brutus 2608 something..it says around 2500 watts rms mono block amp... I will be putting an HC 800 Kinetik in the back with the FI, and I'm doing the big 3 upgrade as well, my alt is around 130 amps in a 2002 jeep grand cherokee laredo with stock amp.... I was wondering if the amp and everything will just...pound faces off...like, far louder than my two sealed 15's... Any advice on a battery etc would be nice...I can get videos when I get a video camera...just wanting to know what to do you know, am I missing anything that will cause me to be...sub-sensational lol
