When you unhook one amp and just one sub is playing, the other probably moves a little due to air circulating at high velocities through the box and causing the cone of the other sub to move a little (kind of like a passive radiator).

last time i got a slapping noise on one of my l7s it was the lead broke. one one side that was when they first came out so i dont know how they doo their leads any more.

well i know for sure them amps CAN NOT be ran under 1.5 so u may need someone to build u a sub with the coils so u can get them amp to that and i dont care what j/l said 1.5 to 4 ohms u get all the power cause if u hook it up at 4 then drop it to 1.5 u can hear a diffrence. so i would contact sundown jacob. or dcsoundlabs rusty ive talked to them both and they should be able to get u something that would work. i think u could do 6 subs 2 on each amp if u can find the right coils. rusty has hooked me up with difrent coils on my sub so he should have some laying around. and i love the j/l amp ive own a few in the past just way to much for me to spend now when i know i can get stuff as good if not better for cheeper

man thats enough money to buy some used stuff that would sound very nice. all are good brands i always worry about getting it and then it not being good enough but ask almost anyone on here its never good enough, that why everyone is always buying more and doing more. i have a sundown 3000 and dc subs and they sound great together and ive seen both used for alot less than what u have u might have enough to buy used highs amp and some cheap sony for highs after u buy then good luck man. cant wait to c what u chose and the build log.

If your goin for numbers, you got the wrong subs bro....
ive got 4 10 inch dc level 4 with upgrades and my buddy with the j/l has got better numbers than me i dont think its all about the subs its about the build but everything matters

You're posting on a public forum. If you don't want people to respond, don't post. Simple as that. If you can build a box better than the one in there now, go for it.
i never said anything about building a better box dude your a ass i know where i posted. and if u could read i never knocked any work bills did just trying to get pointers. i had kert recone my subs he did good i talk to kert and know him hes a good guy. so if u wanna feel important by typing replies do it in a useful way please

Judging by how you typed up this post, I wouldn't touch that box. Bills does some good work. I doubt you'd be able to improve it much.
i don't spell and punctuate but i was told by the dude the the box wasn't right and yes i have a buddy that has a box by bills and seen some other shit from him and it very good i wasn't knocking his work just saying if its tuned higher or how could we get more out of it.
also was that a lil bit better sorry to piss you of sir and u don't have to knock anyone if you don't have anything useful don't comment

right now he has a wall in his z28 its tuned to around 35hz, he has 2 j/l1000s running em his numbers r 148.? if i get pics of it measurments of it is there anything we can do to get them numbers higher ive read ppl can get over 50s with them subs hes trying to reach the 50s. i was thinking just changing the baffle and port he had kert bills build it if u know him he didnt give exacts on it but if u could help let me know pm or post thanx i can get any info needed

so he said 32hz was too low for level fours is that true cause thats what my box is tuned to and if i turn it up to loud it pops and someone told me something about play lower than tuned sorry for puting this in ur thread but if thats the truth i dont want u to have the same issue as me

yea i just through it together to take it to comp. i have some more 0/2 gauge im going to do big 3. and add to the amp instead of whats there maybe a amp rack. add a200 amp alt and fiberglass 4 6x9s in the back deck. i think im going to redo the box in mdf i just did it like that to see how it sounded i glassed the inside. and i think carpet or something for the box more more more deading mats. it never ends ill gtet videos up tomorrow hopefully. i never liked the counter sink ether but i had two boxes to chose from and my fatherinlaw said lets do this one and when i went home for the night he did the countersink

sorry its not done its never done and then i decide to do something else. also lost most my pics cause i got a virus on my computer. the box 5 cu ft tuned to 32hz, 4 10" level 4 subs coils 1.4 final load .7 on a sundown 3000d americanbass amp for the highs have sony explode i know pll dont like the brand but i switched out the orion and alpine highs cause they didnt get as loud also kenwood deck i will get more pics and a few videos soon. did 143.7 on the dash with t/l i wasnt happy with it i think can do more but i dont want to turn the amp up more than halfway and no bass boost. i dont care about the numbers it sounds good and moves alot of air.

my bad it sure seemed like it to me so if thats not the ? what is i can tell u ive hear dc level 4 i have aq hdc3s ran off two aq3500 and 2 12 fi btls ran off one aq2200 and sundown ran off 2 sundown 3500s all get loud all sound good but i think if i was going to change my subs i right now after what i heard today it would be a tie between sundown and aq hdc3 both r loud and sound good. but i heard the fully loaded fi btl off the aq2200 and it didnt sound that good at all so i think it really depends on ur box and set up.

yea i wasnt told mine others got a chance to go play some tones and get told theres i dont know it seemed to b a joke to me my buddy couldnt run in the class he wanted cause his wall was in front of the pillars but a dude with the same car and his box went about 4 inchs from the top of the car and his box was past the pillars and he got to run in the class my boy wanted too

well if there is a law or not if they want they can give u a ticket for obstruction of view almost in all states its sucks some cops will let u go some will not. i got stoped in lincoln ne i think i was targeted for having big rims cause i got stoped for speeding 2 miles over and was told u was speeding ans when he didnt fint shit i got a speeding ticket and obstruction of veiw for haveing air freshener on my rear view i went to court and asked the judge if thats the case why do they sell em he said i dont know so i think they can do what they want
