    www.mobileelectronics.com.au is the biggest australian car audio forum, head over there for some cool builds!

    the team lolz laser thats linked above is one of the bigger builds out here at the moment, but there plenty of other stuff goin on too :)

    my van with 4 15"s and 16x 6.5"s, my mates wagon with 4x 18"s in the back, Lunchbox.inc (on here) with the charade with 6x 15s bassraces mid 150s, plenty of people gettin loud in aus! also lots of crazy SQ build goin on too :)

    i remember a while ago sitting in my mates car that did a 146, i had to block my ears and it still hurt like crazy... now my car does 148 and it doesnt even bother me, everytime i have someone else in the car though it reminds me how loud it actually is :P

    the problem is im the loudest one in my area so i cant just sit in someone elses car to get my fix :(

    another problem is when i go clubbing these days i get heaps dissapointed coz the club doesnt sound as good as my car lol... it sucks

    no "Q" is how wide the peak is on either side of the bass boost frequency, if you set it to say boost 40hz with a high Q it will boost the frequencys arouns 40 aswell (maybe down to 35 and up to 45) with a lower Q it only boosts closer to the frequency (maybe 39 to 41)

    also at DWZ if you set the HPF on you amp and headunit to the same frequency they will add together so if you have say a 12db slope on each the speaker will see a 24db slope (not sure on the exact numbers but something like this), most times if you set the HPF on your head unit either turn it off or turn it right down on the amp so the frequency you set on the head unit is actually what the speaker sees :)

    to the OP, a bigger box could sound better/louder, but also a stronger box... how strong are your boxes? do any of the panels of the box flex even slightly? when i braced my old dual 12" box to stop it flexing a little it got wayyyy louder and sounded way cleaner

    steve grounds to the alt casing because that's the very best ground in the whole vehicle it don't get no betta then that.

    but i thought that alternators didnt have a ground, they were grounded by the casing... just something i read while reading a forum on the big 3, please correct me/inform me if im wrong

    have you upgraded the battery and "big 3" (earths)?

    doing this usually get rid of most headlight dimming, also upgrading the amps earths to a bigger guage and making sure they have good contact with the body helps a bit,

    as for the caps, since youve already got them you may as well put them in but im not quite sure how to do that. doing all the other stuff first is a good idea though

    push it in better and see if that fixes it, also if you use spade connectors to connect the speaker wires to your subs one of the voice coils may have come undone, i kept having this problem with mine till i soldered them... i dunno what gear you have so thats all i got for now...

    Newbie, you might wanna wait until you have more than 7 posts before you start making demands from the guy who owns the site. Does this look like a project that he could "just hurry up and finish"?

    While you are waiting, spend your time going back and reading the previous 287 pages!

    ...Sorry, but someone had to say it...

    ive been watching this build for over 6 months now and yes ive read every one of those 287 pages, i know steves a busy man and the hoopty is a massive project that definatly shouldnt be rushed and i wasnt "making demands" just wondering what had been done lately as there hadnt been any updates for over 2 weeks, im sure your all just as keen to see the latest amazing piece on the biggest baddest car stereo ever...

    anyways steve amazing work as usuall keep it up
