  1. i know youve done it at shows i was wondering why your meter was doing that....thanks for puttin the vids up though man!  Put up some of your other crazy vids in the video section man, people love that shit bro. The loudest type R 10 on the planet posting vids up on my site.....cool shit.

I mean for real, those results are FAR from typical so you have something special there man.  Good job.

Thanks for the compliments.  Now I just need to make the woofer hold together for more than 1 run!

  2. damn your gonna get upset when i ask this but why is it "idle" at 123?  Mine "idles" at 98-99 and when i slam the door i might see a 118 or something.....why does it hit a 131 before the bass even hits?  Dont get mad bro im just curious.

Got any vid of the sub and box itself?

You know steve, I have always wondered the same thing.  The meter picks up some kind of interference from something.  It's happened with numerous computers and meters, and it does it only occasionally.  Don't think that I'm trying to forge my numbers or anything. ;D  No need for that.  I've proven my scores at shows too.

I don't know what it is, but it does that every so often.

  3. ahh pics at last. thank you:)

tommyk: do you meter with your passenger seat folded?

    Yes I do.

    Here's some vids of the type-r 10"

On a side note, I killed this sub today. :(  After over a year of hard abuse, bottoming it out, full tilt test tones at 4x its rated power, after streetbeat and driveby runs, I finally killed it.  I was doing a USACi streetbeat run, and it was loud as all hell.  Did a 149.5 for the 30 second average, and at the end of the run it toasted.  Oh well.  it's about time it died.  ;D

  4. WOW!  How did I never see this thread before?

Sorry for making you guys wait.  I had no idea this thread was here!

Anyways, the single 10" type-r setup does a 151.0 in the kick (outlaw) and a 147+ on the dash (db drag legal), both at 44 hz.  It's NOT a TCAB box, I make all of my own boxes.  The single 10" box is about 2 cubes, and yes it does use aeroports.  My truck HATES being sealed up.  No air to move around.  I lose a good 4-5 dB just by closing up the door.  With the door open, the kick and dash are only ~1 dB apart.  Thus why I don't bother doing street A.  :'(

here's the show results with the 151.0 score: http://www.mecacaraudio.com/eventresults.a...spx?eventid=376

My name is tom kaczmarczyk.  My score is in street 1, and then you can go to the "Phat awards" tab and see that I won "Phat 10", meaning I had the loudest single 10" there.  ;)

The setup DOES play music (very well  ;) ), it did a 147.3 in USACi streetbeat (30 seconds of music, in the kick) and will do over a 140 in bassrace.  And with the way I have it set up now, it does a 149+ at the passenger headrest at 42 hz.  And if I feel like being uncomfortable, I will slam music on it daily.  ;)

The single 15" type-r I got up to a 154.3 in the kick, 148 on the dash, and a 150.5 at the driver's headrest.  Here's some pics of the single 15" box.

Yes it is a tight squeeze, and yes it is uncomfortable to sit like that.  ;D  I only have it in there at shows/meets.  I'll take the box out and put it in the bed for the drive to the show.

Any other things you guys would like to know?  Since the single 10" setup is in there right now, maybe I'll go take a few crappy vids (my vid camera sucks) just to show you guys?  I'll even play music  ;D

  5. well, the bad news for ya is that last year the competitors couldnt really leave the area...so if u wanna see the car show part then u might wanna do it on friday

Well, according to MECA, this year we are allowed to jam our stereos at designated times, so I may not even see the car show at all anyways. :)

Either way, it should be a great time.

  6. Once again, MECA will be hosting a triple point show at the Carl Casper international car show in louisville, KY.

The show is february 23-25.  the 23rd is for local louisville competitors ONLY.  The 24-25 is open to all competitors.

More info can be had here:

    http://www.mecacaraudio.com/flyers/2007%20...r%202-23-07.pdf

Keep in mind, that this is also a HUGE custom car show as well.  Myself and a few teammates will be there representing Team Kicker and Team Phat Hertz.  Come by and hear the setups if you wish. :)
