  1. I will be sending it in just pm me the info thanks

it's possible that one is defective, I bought one when they first came out, before the hv one, and we used it to tune my aq20's. DD-1 didn't like the high voltage, but meade replaced it with the hv, no hassles, no ra#, he just replaced it, switched amps to stetsom 14k's and the dd-1 reads spot on. It reads distortion a hair before the stetsom clip light blinks. It's a good tool, doesn't matter if you have 500 watts or 25,000 watts.

  2. I would go with the two smaller amps because of flexibility and warranty..I popped my aq20 in August and here it is March and I still don't have it back from AQ(DD). It's a strong amp..goes into protect at 15.3 volts...clamped almost 12k out of mine with box rise right above 1 ohm....My amp failed because of poor box design..top row of clamshell was causing the voice coils on my subs to get caught in the gap..sending dc current back to the amps and poof magic dust..its a strong amp with the right electrical, but if this is for a daily or ground pounding the two 3500's should suffice

  3. its not like you had some average subs and then went to SMD's....you had Fi BTL's, some of the best 18's in production, and the SMD's are straight shittin on'em!.....that's insane..6600 watts per sub on music....insane, I've watched that hair trick vid at least 30 times and every time I get to the end and see the excursion on those subs, a smile comes to my face. I can only imagine how you must feel.. Awesome subs, great vids, keep up the insanity!

  4. No..

We made steves like we did for a reason. This way we can physically 'see' what is going on. If everything is covered up you cannot see how things are working.

Production will have spaced spiders and everything as it should including the motor support out the back. If we do that on steve's subs then we do not learn anything from it...thus is why steve is doing more in car testing...ie: he has prototypes. as he has explained in the videos and the thread...

Will these be offered any other sizes besides 18's?

  5. Awesome work, I had the shop that's doing my install look at your last like 10 pages, so they can see what quality work is, I also, had them look at Jonathan's new build log to contrast how not to do it(no offense 98). Great work Steve your vids and pics are actually very informative thanks! and Jonathan, I can't wait to see what David does with your hoe!

  6. They have the same board as the ma audio hk 4000d....nice amps if you have the electrical to back it up,,I had a 4000d and it clamped 3300 watts at 14.2 volts dropping to 11.5. You can mod it to play at one ohm, to me you don't really gain much from doing this but alot of people do it, you need 16 plus volts to get the 4000 watts from it though...for what it is and what it cost not a bad amp,,,just my 2 cents!

  7. so what would u consider them lvl4 dc subs??

so how would it sound diffrent if i was to use a sealed box or ported box??

I would consider those sql subs(sound quality level), they handle a good amount of power and the one's that I have heard sound good, real good. I would go to dc's forum or their website and see what they recommend for an enclosure. A sealed box sounds good, but they don't get as loud as ported boxes..if your after sq go for it(sealed).
