  1. Had this same problem, try grounding the RCAs, if that doesnt work replace them, and if that doesnt fix it is the radio. Pioneers are bad about the internal ground going out and causing noise. even my deh-980bt has this problem. I spent probably 2 weeks trying to figure our where the noise was coming from and its the radio. Did a install in a guys truck yesterday that had a DEH 6800 and it had aweful noise, replaced it with a Kenwood and the problem was solved.

Wow thats funny...put one of those in the mustang I'm doing and myself spent a couple days tring to figure what the the hell was making all the noise...turned out that the amps and the deck were all fucking up(sound stream3500 and a 4.520)..sucks when the gear is messing up.The last thing you want is for al your new gear to take a shit on ya!!!

  2. Hey guys my name is ZACH if you didn't know. I have been going to this car audio shop thats called General Audio like right down the street from my school like everyday for like 4 days. I got the Kenwood 10 up at the shop for free cause I thought it might work and I could do something with it but it was fryed. Well I have asked like three different people that work there about if they were hiring and they all said no. So today I go back up there cause I was gonna meet a friend up there that has a MTX Audio 12 with power acoustics amp and kicker mids and high's and a really nice Kenwood headunit. Well I went inside before he got there and asked this white guy I saw up there at the counter and he said I would have to talk to one of the owner's. It was a lady she is the owners wife. So I told her I install like boxes and everything and build boxes and all kinds of stuff so she said come in the back with me and I did and she told me to write down my name and number and I did, she said she needed some people for weekends and maybe after school. So I shook her hand and said nice to meet you and was very polite. She said she would talk with her husband and get back with me. Also she asked if I had a car so I said yes and brought it up there after I went home and she saw it and was impressed and this other guy that works there said it was a nice install and he said he was impressed too. I both shook there hands and told them thanks. Then they said that they would call me on Monday when the head guy the womens husband is at work and I told them to call around 4:00 so I could get home. Is there any suggestions yall could give me like what to say/ask. I am really excited and hope to get a job there.

The only thing I can say is listen more than you talk!!!!Let them know that you are serious about this shit and you want to learn all you can..I was 15 when I first got a job in a shop and I was lucky to get in.If you have the skills, offer to go in there and do some work for free for a day...just to get your foot in the door!!!Be confident but not cocky.....and if you have questions work them out in your head before you ask them!!!

  3. If your going carpet them, they wont take you long so 250.00 plus materials or so would be fair. But if your doing vinyl or paint, man you need to get paid because your going to put in some time to make them smooth!!From there its what kind of vinyl or how crazy is the paint job....MAKE MONEY!!!

  4. Well, I'm gathering parts and planning for this winter's run at 150db, and wanted to see what you guys think.

Right now, I'm at 146.2 with a single MTX 9512 on a Memphis MC-1500d at 44hz.  The enclosure is very musical, and any enclosure that goes in there will be.  There will be no one note wonders.

The enclosure will most likely be another horn, since this one worked so well.  I'm thinking about running a TC LMS-5400 12" as the sub, but that's not certain yet, since it's not even out yet, but it looks promising.  I'm probably changing out the 1500d for the Memphis 4kd to run whatever sub I choose.

The electrical system will consist of a 180 amp alternator (the largest I can get for my car), 4 batcap 800's and 4 runs of 1/0 for both power and ground.

    What do you guys think?

Love the Memphis product....but I would run 4 of the memphis MCD1000's,not the 4kw.More power less amperage needed!!

  5. so im getting ready to sell my car and i m doing a little touching up...new tires, carpet, and paint. I was wondering has anybody dealt with Maaco yet? Ive heard theyre crap and do cheap work. if somebody has had them paint a car, how much was it? and was it good. thanks

Yeah my girlfriend had her escalade painted there(in Sacramento)and it had problems from the word go....dry spots, runs and everything else you can name....went to the owner and he pulled out the contract that basicly states that they do crap work and thats it....dont do it!!!

  6. Yea I ride with the seats down all the time. It sounds MUCH louder with the seats down and it sounds better. I get a lot more rattle with seats up too.

I keep the seats down with people in the back... :D

With a little open space in the rear deck all that sound pressure will have somewhere to go....something like a pair of 6by9 or some 6 and a half dummy grills will do it!!!try it you will like it..

  7. people that are running their subs and port firing into the cabin...

do they ride with the seats down all the time or does it sound good with the seats up as well???

    thank you for any help

    -Ryan

Thats the problem with most systems...people put all this work into the box, then no thought into the sound...Spend a little time in reworking your rear deck and you will get way more sound for little money and time invested!!
