but is silver tinned copper more cunductive thatn pure copper?
-
i too have had experience with the 4awg kicker hyperflex... and i loved they flexibility.... but after reading around ive seen that people discourage using the silver tinned wire because its not as conductive(word?) as pure copper...
i was also looking at that monster wire till i saw the streetwires... i still have yet to find something that tells the strand count....

x2 on the steel wool.... that is what i use to clean the chrome parts of my truck...

ok so i have been lurking from site to site looking at different brands of 1/0 wire.... im looking for wire that is flexible, high strand count, and great price...
now some of the wire i have seen his silver tinned copper and other wire is pure copper.... what is the point of silver tinned? is it better or worse than pure copper?
i like knukoncepts prices on their silver tinned wire... i also noticed that kicker hyperflex is also silver tinned....
but i also have found that sonicelectronics has 1/0 streetwires wire which is pure copper for a great price...... but i dont know their strand count...
im also wondering about welding cable... but i noticed that its copper strands are much thicker but less strands obviously..
what can you guys tell me about the different types of wire and what to look for... i plan on running 1/0 between front and rear batteries and to an amp that puts out a around 2000 to 2500rms

dude walmart sells them in the automotive department beside the heat shrink tubing....
-
sounds like it was the oil light... just check the damn dipstick and see if your low on oil or not....
-
i just put this + some kicker hyperflex power wire on ebay.....
-
WinISD + sketchup for me.....still fairly noob at it but getting better
x2... its difficult at first but it goes pretty smoothly after the first couple times....
-
not exactly... it all kinda just falls hand in hand... normally the more powerhandling the larger the magnet...... but in your case i believe its just box tuning.... if ive said it once ive said it a million times... the enclosure will make or break a system....
-
Thanks, thats all i needed to know lol.
ill be getting one in a custom ported enclosure - magnet facing upward.. just hoping they bump the shit out of my amp
it would be the other way around... the amp would bump the shit out of them if its got enough balls
-
shweeeewwww... not what i thought that was going to be.... cute stuff...

the 12" d6 is rated at 600/1200.... my best friend had 2 of them running off of 2 diamond d3 800.1's daily.... and they seemed to love the power.... i had one running off of a hifonics bxi608 600rms(a tad over rated...) and it just laughed at the power....

twigs, you should actually have 3 fuses back there 1 within 18 inches of each battery so thats 2 on that run of 1/0, and then you should have another fuse within 18" of your battery on the run of 1/0 going to your amp. and all of the fuses should be 300amp.....
what you have now is 1 fuse between batts and 1 fuse between your batt and amp... and i would have done that stuff right and made sure you got 2 fuse blocks if i hadnt been balls deep working on your enclosure. you will have to excuse jordan, he is still learning... btw how does the box sound?...
oh and guys fyi, the op's batterys stock location is in the spare tirewell, so he could proble use more than 1 run of 1/0awg... although it should suffice...

it says the address is not valid when i click the link... but that last pic is basically what im trying to do.... btw how do i take a screen shot? i cant get it to quit sucking the boards in when i do the push pull....
-
bump... any advice?
-
ok im figuring it out... but its got me pissed now... ive got the bottom piece and 3 sides but when i do the fourth side it completes the box by putting a top piece on it for me, so i erase the top piece and try to push pull the fourth side and it just sucks that piece into the box 3/4" instead of making the wood thick.... plus when i try to make the top piece it put its on the inside of the walls instead of letting me place it on top of the box... it wont let me make it 30 x 35
-
ok cool... i see how to do that now... how do i build the vertical walls? do i build them to the side and then move them? or buld them on the bottom piece? im trying to piddle around with it but im not getting very far...
-
ok so im trying to learn how to build boxes on ketchup and its not really lookin that great.... i built an enclosure and it looks fine but definately not like the ones ive seen on here... the walls are paper thin and i cant get the measurements exact.... they are always a fraction off....
i started by making a rectangle and used the pushpull to make it the correct height..... am i doing this wrong.... can anybody tell me how to do this? or is there a tutorial for making subwoofer enclosures on sketchup?
-
i usually use 4 of the #8 wood screws and 4 i think they are called pan head screws.... and i never have any problems.... i dont use wood screws if the subs are really heavy or im inverting the subs....

"If your not looking to buy a product that someone has forsale, Do Not Post in that thread" this is in the fs rules! you have no intention on trying to trade or buy my amp. so dont post in my thread. you did it to be a jackass and i dont appreciate it!

you dont need to break in your sub... just take it easy on it at first... no big deal....
Breaking in a sub is like breaking in your girl before you pound her.... which would you prefer? tight or loose?
