  1. So, my buddy has gotten me addicted to Black ops for the 360... so when i get my bonus check from work im going to grab a new slim 360... what is the cheaper option for internet connection that will be suitable enough to play without an assload of lagging?

fyi i dont live in town... im not looking for the mega super chuck norris internet... just enough to play smoothly...

  2. ok well roadmagnet.com doesnt have springs listed for the saturn s series... just the Ion.... so im back to the B&G springs... i can get them in 1.75 or 2" drop.... with the height its sitting now on the stock springs... it looks like 2" would be great for the front but it looks like id be cutting it close in the back... but i do know my car is sagging a bit with the stock springs since i have 400+lbs of sound system in the back... perhaps i would be fine with the 2" since the springs are built stiffer... any thoughts?

  3. You'd have to get metered in my garage.

    :)

Crump and I share the TL and my battery on my laptop can't go anywhere unplugged.

Talk to Crump if you're interested and we'll get something set up.

nice... just the other day Cubs_fan and i were talking about trying to meet up with you guys... we were sitting there bullshiting watching his buddy cut a hole in in the rear deck of his caddy...haha

  4. So, this is kinda like my review on the sa-12's... i felt it belonged in this section rather than the product review section...

i bought my sa-12's about a year ago USED... they sat in my room for a couple months before i was able to build enough funds to buy my car... Once i got the car i installed one of them and beat on it for about 5 months with an Sae1200d @2ohm... i was able to do a 138.3db with the single woofer firing towards the back...

Then around July or so i built my enclosure for both of them. ran the sae1200d @1ohm... i had the enclosure firing into the cabin but not sealed off from the trunk yet... the first time i got on the TL with both of them, i was able to kick out a 145.3db on music.... i was amazed! and i knew they could take a bit more power than i had available...

So with the sae line discontinued and the Saz line just out of my budget range... i purchased an AQ2200d for them about 3 weeks ago... ive had the new amp installed for about 2 weeks now, at first i was very skiddish about cranking it up... but after a couple days of getting used to the new amp, i got over that fear...... i do however keep a very close eye on the clip light, but i have no problems taking them full tilt on just about any of Decaf's and/or Bigpimpin's remixes....

i have slammed on these things for 2 hours straight on road trips at full tilt and they barely get warm at all!.... my enclosure is now sealed off from the trunk and man, let me tell you... its fucking loud!.... and i feel like these woofers would gladly take even more power and shit it out the port with no problems.....

In closing, IMO... The Sa-12's are the ultimate daily woofer in their price category... these things take a damn beating and keep on singing!

  5. There isn't really a cheap way to do deadening if you want to do it right.

Plexi is damn expensive, you'd probably want to have 1" thick plexi if that's what you are doing though.

Depends on the amp, if you have a master/slave setup you can easily, if not you need to get something that goes inline with the RCAs or a 360.2 or some kind of processor.

I'd go for thicker wire then use a distribution block to split it into the biggest size that will fit your amp.

i second this... never skimp on your wiring... 1/0 wire and an extra battery in the back will go a long way

  6. check out Fatmat sound deadener on ebay.. its pretty dirt cheap, and good stuff... Ive never heard of a bad review about fatmat... i use it myself..... a lot of guys around here use Secondskin but its a bit more expensive

multiple amps on single bass knob... humm in your case i would probably say some sort of sound processor with a gain knob would be a good idea... in this case since you want some quality, you can tune things to your liking with it...

the enclosure choice would be decided up to your likings in music and how you want the bass to sound... i myself prefer a properly designed and built slot vented enclosure... but if your into sq or like the punchy bass vs. ground pounding then a simple sealed box may be right for you

where do you plan on going with this system in the future?

  7. I used to hate the JVCs when I installed(Junk Very Cheap is what we called em) Used to always get them back for people having locked up cd drives. Seems like they have a slower feed rate and people would jam them in. Other than that they were ok. nothing amazing. This was a while ago though so maybe they've got better.

ive always seen jvc as a slightly inferior brand... but thats fuckin nice... i may try to find a used one...

ive heard some good things about jvc's... the hu's may just not like stupid people that dont care about their equipment..lol... i baby all of my stuff

  8. So im tossing around the idea of doing a touch screen in my car... at the moment i dont have the paper to go buy a new one... im also not very familiar with DVD player models..so suggest me some good budget HU's that i can get for like 200 or less used... gps isnt completely necessary, but i would like to be able to use a usb drive or ipod with it.. can be either double din or flipout, doesnt matter to me... eeh just toss me some ideas
