  1. alright can any one help me out with the specs I've never had to build a box before so I'm in need of a deal of help lol, Me= Noob

I want to go to home depot tomarrow to pick some of this shit up but I have no clue what to get and the lengths to get it cut at, my box now is 54 inchs wide and it still has give or take 3 inchs on one side and another inch or 2 on the other side, my buddy said that they can cut the wood for me even the sub holes so I presume the sub holes will be 15'' diamater or what? I'm a fucken noob in need of help lol I just would rather ask alot of dumb questions that act like I know something I don't and have to spend more money.

  2. I want to build a custom 4 box, but I have no knowlage of how to do it so if there are any tutorials on how to build/ what tools I need wtf a baffel is and such lol it would be way nice . I'm currently selling 2 of my 15's cause 2 of them are dual 2 and the other are dual 4's I was told thats a problems so I'm selling the dual 2s. or should i go with dual 2s? and sell the dual 4s? I just want it to be loud lol. I'm good at building shit outa wood I just have no idea where to start!

Thanks in advance for any Help given.

  3. yea I'm aware that my stock alternator of 110amp aint shit lol and I just got new HIDS so I have to put relay in cause if I'm hounding for to long they start to strobe lol, but on the box question yea I want to build my own box so I'm waiting to find a shop that some one will let me use for a bit, I'm still think about placment on the port let alone how i should face the subs, I would go get the material i need but I'm little low on funds *how much will this run me to build about?*.

but yea hopefully I want to have this done by Feb 7 so I can have sort of as a b-day present to myself.

  4. nice "yellow top" lol that one battery isnt going to support 2k+ watts especially with a stock alt.

are those subs facing back? if so, youre losing a lot of sound that way. you should build a custom box for them and do it right

I fixed it I have 2 batterys just sorta skipped the second one on accident I 4get its there cause of where its at.

And yes they are facing the back, I had one box facing the back, and one box angled facing toward the front and then i tried both facing up, still not as loud as I thought 4 15's should be. so I stacked them and gave up my back window and now to me and all my friends I personally think I gained a few more dbs and it defiantly has the shake of a small car, *it didn't as much be* so to me the best way I've found is to stack them facing the back about half foot- 3/4 of a foot from the rear door.

  5. What Up I've been along time follower of SMD MAFIA! and I'm just getting around to getting my pics up.....

Any Way My Name is Trevor I'm 18 and From Anchorage, Ak. I did most of the work after I had my first install from best buy that was 1 alpine amp don't even remember the wattage, but it was powering 1 single 12'' infinity in a ported box. Well 1 Year Later I'm currently Ranked 1 or 2 in Alaska for the loudest system.

I will start from the front of the car and work my way back

Under the Hood Battery #1: "yellow top" NGT Extreme DSCF1022.jpg

My Alternator is still stock its a work in progress

    Deck: is a KenWood eXcelon

Doors: 4 KenWood KFC-P708 Don't have my own pics seeing as there in the door

Powering those 4 doors is a Alpine 4 Channel MRP-F550 amp pushing about 125watts to all 4 at 2ohms: DSCF1013.jpg

Under the back Seat behind Amp #1 is Battery #2: Another "Yellow Top" NGT Extreme DSCF1018.jpg

    Amp #1: JL Audio 1000/1v2 going to 2 Alpine Type R 15's 500Watts apiece DSCF1015.jpg

Amp# 2: Another JL Audio 1000/1v2 going to another 2 Alpine Type R 15's again 500Watts apiece this time I have it mounted on the back of my stacked box DSCF1017.jpg

And Finally My Wall of 4 15'' Alpine Type R's: DSCF1001.jpg

Thats My Current Build I hope to get some Feedback on what you guys think.

The Only Picture I have left of my old build before I grew the balls and went to 4 15's

  6. Well I don't have pics and as you can tell this is my first post!!! YAY!!!!! but my real question is if I'm considered a ground pounder. my system is as reads:

4 Alpine Type R's 500w to each sub 2 of them rigged at 4 ohms and the others at 2ohms

    2 1000w JL 1001 v2 Slashs powering them

all my door speakers are kenwood excelerions along with my Deck

and powering those are a single Alpine 500w

I dunno if there is a certian decible that defines you a ground pounder but I hit 155.4 this summer with out the new ported boxes i have now and that was only with 2 subs also

    .

    Thanx for the input.
