  1. Hi guys, I made a video about my problem.

    It'll only make noise, which is horrible at that, after you turn the gain up high enough.

    Setup:

    Subwoofer - JL Audio 10", 150 watt RMS

    Amplifier - Dayton 240 watt, 4 ohms stable

    Source - MacBook Pro, 3.5 mm stereo jack to RCA plugs

    Situation:

    The subwoofer intermittently started making that noise a few days ago, now it can do nothing but that. I have already isolated the problem as the RCA connectors (not the cables because I already tried two sets), or the amplifier.

    Any help would be greatly appreciated.

  2. Flow - Green is clipped on the high frequencies, but it definitely will not damage your subs as it is not clipped at all on the low frequencies.

    Here it is with a 150 hz low pass, 24 dB drop-off.

    Same story with the Soulja Boy, it's clipped on the highs but not on the lows. Same low pass applied here. (It clips in two spots, but obviously not as bad)
