  1. the new stype type rs seem to have problems with the surround comming off the basket every one except for 1 or 2 ( out of 8 ) have come apart at least once used some 5min expoxy and we good to go!

Mine are the OLD type well not good news if even the new ones happen like that ive owned this for over 8 years and this is the first problem .

I bought the blue goop only 4.38$!!!

Cleaned it all off with rubbing alcohol and followed the directions. Im going to let it dry for 48 hours then see how well it works.

    thanks for the help guys.

  2. Hey i have the old style alpine type r's 12 inch. And i noticed a sloppy sounding bass today. I popped my trunk and noticed that one of the subs cone is seperating from the rubber surrong around the bottom 1/4 of the sub. I was wonder what i could do to repair this myself. If not should i just buy new ones? Other then this i have had NO problems with them in the many years i have had them. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

  3. Look at the pic. the positives are next to each other and the negatives are next to each other. They are connected internally for ease of wiring multiple subs (2 dual 4's for example).

If you have 2 dual 4-ohm subs, wire each sub down to 2 ohms and connect them to the amp and it'll be wired to one ohm.

Sweet thats how i have it hooked up at the moment thank you guys

  4. damn its late and i need to go to bed, because i thought you were asking how to wire your subs together lol

so what your saying is that your amp has 2 negative and 2 positive outputs.

and you want to know how to connect the speakers to your amp... =)

im not sure myself, ive never had an amp like that

ya its messed up!!!! Ive installed 3 car audio setups and have NEVER seen this before. and yes it has two + and two- just like a two channel amp has. I want to make sure the amp is putting out 1600rms well probably noot because its hifonics but still. want to make sure its seeing 1ohm

  5. ok well, what you want to do is find out what ohm your subs are, dual voice coils?

click on this woofer wiring link and put in your info and it will show you different ways you can wire your subs..

1ohm load,2ohm load,4ohm load etc,the lower the ohm load, the more power you will get out of your amp.

make sure your amp is stable for the ohm load you have chosen, usually meaning make sure its 1ohm stable before wiring your subs to 1 ohm.

and also make sure your subs can handle the power your amp will put out at that ohm load.hope this helps!!

Wow fast replay and the subs are 4ohm dual voice coil and each wired down to 2ohms each. And yes the amp is 1ohm stable Its just weird that a MONO amp has two outputs.. ill make a picture in paint!!! this is how i have it set up currently...

I just find it weird it has two speaker outputs

  6. Hey i am running two kick comp 12inches. with a Hifonics BXi1610D. I found it weird that it has two speaker outputs. I have each subwoofer wired to 2ohms. Do i connect one subwoofer to each output? or do i bridge the two. I thought it was kindof weird because my kicker mono amp only has one output. So i wanna make sure that each is getting the 800watts. Thanks for your time!!!!
