  1. if that's the case take the double baffle off the front and make the top a double baffle and put the sub up top.. i think either way you'll be satisfied by it...
  2. yeah i agree with neo.. i mean what are you looking for out of a sub? each one has it's own unique characteristics but it's up to what you want
  3. com'n guys what do ya say? have nobody seen these woofers in their lifetime before?
  4. is what i came up with google sketch.. my sketch skills aren't quite that good yet but it should be close to the real deal.. in a few i'll get a picture with all the dimensions and specs up here ya go.. i'm pretty confident in it and if anyone sees anything wrong feel free to point it out. you might have to save the picture and zoom up on a few of the numbers but other than that it's all clear and readable if you don't see it just say something and i'll send it to you cause my computer is being stupid right now and it's showing the images EXTREMELY LARGE and idk why and idk if it will do the same to you or not
  5. eezy breezy beezy i could help you out.. only other thing is are you running the lvl 4 or the lvl 4 xl? edit: ahh shoot nvm i just read your signature.. give me a couple of days and i might have something for ya..
  6. So i've had these old ass pyle driver II's laying around for a couple of years now. They are 8" drivers and still work. The thing is they are old as hell and I wouldn't mind selling them but they are in desperate need of a recone before i even considered handing them over to someone else. One of them has a tear in the surround and the other the cone over time has i guess you would say deteriorated and has become paper thin and when with it hits really had sometimes you hear a slapping sound from it. So my question is is there a possibility of getting these things reconed despite their age, or should i build a box for them hook them up to my Mark antony and retire them respectfully if ya know what i mean? Specs are as followed: Manuf - PYLE ID - DW8040/4 RE - 3.1 FS - 51 VAS - 0.01982 QES - 0.34 QMS - 12.42 SD - 0.0215 PE - 120 XMAX - 0.0051 LE - 0.001 DIAM - 8 MMS - 0.0318 BL - 9.639 SENS - 90.878 QTS - 0.3309 ACCEL - 303.1 FRAME - steel CONE - paper SURR - foam RECNO - 751 So what do you guys think?
  7. no but i wouldn't have anything to compare it to cause i went from 2 12" jackhammers to 1 of them in a t-line but after a week with that sub i stepped up to a fi Q 12 and about a month later i built my kerfed t-line but when i went from the 2 jackhammers to 1 it was noticeably louder considering the amount of wattage i was running.
  8. One day I came across this video and I laughed my ass off when I first saw it. Hope you guys enjoy! Can't get the video posted up here for some reason but the link should still work.

  11. the non kerfed box is strictly 1/4 deteremind by the speakers Fs the kerfed t-line the compression chamber is the one along the back but you can't notice it because of the camera angle. The kerfed t-line isn't like an ordinary t-line, the calculations are completely different of a regular t-line and to me it works so much more efficiently. first it goes loading chamber, expansion, compression, then acceleration. each chamber varies slightly in area. but yeah the second t-line you see there is strictly 1/4 wave based on the speakers fs of a mtx 12 inch jackhammer and i used the Sd to determine the height and width. also i forgot to mention on the kerfed t-line the port area is determined off of the actual cone area of a 12 inch speaker and not the sd of that Fi sub.
  12. a t-line is way different from a regular ported enclosure so your port firing up through the rear deck and wherever you want your speakers to face is going to be real challenging... if you haven't already read the tutorial on the quarter wave t-line do so.. and if you didn't understand it do it again. And you won't be able to build a t-line for both speakers in the back of an impala. Here are a couple of pictures from the t-lines i built for 1 12. so you can see you have to have ALOT of space to build one of these things and i put these in a blazer and it took up the whole back end. You can go for a t-line but you'd only be able to use one speaker and the port up through the rear deck.. well i don't see that happening. The good thing though is if you can find a single 12 t-line in there it'd probably sound much clearer and if not a little louder the those 2 subs put together in a regular ported box. As far as your speakers specs i think you'd be good but forever would know more about that than me.
